Transmigrated As Cannon Fodder Omega, Their Knees Bent Chapter 5

 Chapter 5: Online Users

The secretary cautiously spoke, “President He?”

He Yunchuan’s face darkened as his mind was filled with thoughts. With so many people here, what should he do if they discovered the existence of the little fox? Would someone try to take the little fox away? Various questions filled his mind.

Seeing his expression, the secretary assumed something major had happened and also put on a serious face.

He Yunchuan said in a deep voice, “Notify the security department to lock down all the entrances and exits of the company. No one is allowed to come in or go out.”

“Yes!”

Lou Ting stayed hidden in the pantry, unpacking a sealed compression suit and smoothing out the wrinkles on it, but he didn’t rush to go out.

Even if they were too lazy to search, couldn’t they just notify him to take a new poster?

Fortunately, he had no intention of participating in this show and decided to directly inform them of his contract termination.

The haptic feedback on the virtual interface was too sensitive, and when he switched screens, he accidentally brushed against the comment section, instantly switching to the comments interface.

Seeing the countless exclamation marks in the comments, Lou Ting’s raised hand paused slightly.

[Ahh, no, please, I beg the production team to change the cast! Why did they bring in Lou Ting, this useless person? Every time I see him on variety shows, I switch channels. There are so many good-looking guys, why did they have to find an ugly freak to spoil my eyes?!]

[Well, although Lou Ting has sung on variety shows before, his singing is nowhere near as good as my rooster’s crow. What’s the point of having him there? Other guys excel in singing and dancing, and he’s just standing in the front being funny?]

[I really don’t understand. A person who can’t sing, can’t dance, has no presence on stage, doesn’t know how to stand or sit properly, and combines all these elements with an incredibly ugly face. Why did they invite him to participate in a talent show? To drag down the other talented guys and create controversy? Well, congratulations, you succeeded. You have your controversy.]

[I’ve been feeling nauseous lately, and after seeing the poster just now, I finally threw up. Thanks, production team.]

The top comments in the front row were filled with malice. Scrolling down, one could vaguely see a few supportive fans speaking up for him. After all, true fans knew that Lou Ting’s looks were not to be underestimated. But without exception, their defense was met with insults and they were ridiculed. After being criticized repeatedly, even the true fans stopped responding.

Lou Ting’s eyes turned cold as he carefully read the comments about him. He didn’t spare a single one.

The fans who spoke up for him were mocked as delusional and ugly. Even if they shared photos, they would be accused of heavy photoshopping and the mockery would continue.

The comments section was filled with relentless malice.

Lou Tingimmediately abandoned the idea of withdrawing from the show, closed the comments section, and opened the email from the production team, replying with: [Message received.]

So what if the production team was disgusting? There would always be some fans supporting him, and they were worth fighting for.

Lou Ting invited the fans who defended him in the comments section to join the same group and sent a message from his personal Weibo account: [Thank you for your hard work. Leave the rest to me.]

Closing the Weibo interface, he suddenly heard a knock on the door from outside.

“Is anyone there?”

Lou Tingdidn’t respond immediately.

He could hear someone murmuring outside, “There’s probably no one here.”

“If there’s no one, why is the door locked? Who did this?”

“Maybe someone accidentally locked it while leaving. Let’s ask the supervisor for the key.”

“Okay, let’s go.”

It was only when the outside became quiet again that Lou Ting opened the door.

As a precaution, he transformed into his fox form and squeezed out of the door crack as a small-eared fox.

Lou Ting ran back in the direction he came from. At the corner, he suddenly saw a group of people walking together, so he quickly hid to the side.

“What’s going on with CEO He? Why did he seal off the entire company in broad daylight? He even sealed the skylight on the top floor. And the most important thing is that no one is allowed in or out!”

“Who knows? As long as it doesn’t affect my work and earning money.”

“Let’s not worry about CEO He’s affairs for now. Let’s take care of our own work first. By the way, CEO He is reimbursing lunch expenses today. What should we order together?”

“Sounds good. I feel like having…”

As they were talking, they walked towards the pantry.

Lou Ting hid in the shadowed corner and listened to their conversation. From what he gathered, He Yunzhou actually sealed off the company? How was he supposed to leave now?

If He Yunzhou was blocking the door and checking people, whether he was in human form or fox form, being seen outside would raise suspicions.

Lou Ting fell into silence for a moment and decided to go back to his office first. Running out now would be walking into a trap.

He ran towards his office, not seeing a single person along the way. He didn’t have time to think much and went straight into the office when he saw the door was open.

He Yunzhou was not there, and even his secretary was nowhere to be seen. Lou Ting was afraid that if he went out to find someone, he might miss them, so he decided to wait on the sofa cushion for He Yunzhou to return.

But as he waited, the afternoon came.

Lou Tian: “…”

Looking at the empty entrance, Lou Ting fell into contemplation.

Could it be… he went to check the surveillance?

No, even if he was checking the surveillance, he should have returned after so many hours.

Lou Ting quickly stood up, intending to go out and find someone, but as soon as he made a move, he saw a man with a gloomy expression walking in from outside.

When He Yunzhou saw the small orange furry ball on the sofa, he visibly paused for a moment.

He Yunzhou approached and reached out to touch him, but he felt that he should be angry right now, so he awkwardly withdrew his hand that was reaching into the air. “You didn’t leave?”

After searching around and not finding the fox’s figure, He Yunzhou asked his secretary to retrieve the surveillance video. It showed the fox running into the pantry, and then there was no more footage.

He thoroughly searched the entire He Corporation building from top to bottom, but still couldn’t find the fox. He thought the fox had escaped to some unknown place.

Little did he know, the fox hadn’t actually run away. Instead, it was waiting for him in his office.

The fox looked at the man curiously, “Ah?”

He Yunzhou sighed, why was he fussing over a small fox? Although wild-eared foxes had high intelligence, they couldn’t communicate indiscriminately like extraterrestrial beings in their animal forms.

He gently touched the fox’s head, flicking its ears between his thumb and index finger, and said, “Don’t run around next time…”

With countless thoughts swirling in his eyes, Lou Ting cautiously twitched his ears. He thought that if the man suddenly made a move, he would have a chance to escape. But then he saw He Yunzhou suddenly sigh and say, “Forget it.”

“I’ll take good care of you.”

He Yunzhou lifted the fox and sat back at his desk, feeding him snacks.

In the blink of an eye, it was already the weekend.

Lou Ting continued to lie on the bed, pretending to be a wild fox.

These past few days, he had been thinking about how to escape, but most of the time, He Yunzhou was with him, and he didn’t have any alone time. What frustrated him the most was that He Yunzhou, with his idle time, actually held him and watched movies, animations, and TV shows!

He even provided commentary while watching.

Lou Ting had no idea why his eyes had to endure such torment.

He Yunzhou was taking a shower in the bathroom, while the computer tirelessly played children’s cartoons in a loop.

Lou Ting squatted on the bed, his fox ears twitching from time to time. The sound of water disappeared from the bathroom, only to return a while later. When it repeated for the second time, Lou Ting transformed into his human form. His clothes were still under the sofa, so for now, he had to borrow one of He Yunzhou’s. He would return it later if he had the chance.

However… his figure still didn’t quite match He Yunzhou’s. After searching around, he couldn’t find anything that fit him perfectly. In the end, he settled for something that was roughly similar. He rolled up the cuffs and trouser legs to make it somewhat wearable.

It seemed like they were in a residential building, one unit per floor. Considering the surveillance cameras in the elevator, Lou Ting chose to take the fire escape route.

However, just as he descended two floors, he heard the sound of rolling wheels.

Lou Ting frowned slightly and slowed his pace.

—”Name not registered. Identity unknown. Intruder detected, intruder detected! Activate attack mode.”

A mechanical voice sounded from behind him, and Lou Ting suddenly turned around, only to see a humanoid robot pointing a tranquilizer gun at him.

The robot’s eyes flickered with red light, and it went, “Beep, beep, beep.”

“Prepare to fire!”

Upon hearing the voice, Lou Ting instinctively took a half-step back and dodged the tranquilizer dart.

“Ding!” The dart forcefully struck the wall, making a crisp sound.

At the same time, Lou Ting steadied himself using the handrail and swiftly rushed toward the robot, striking its head with a forceful elbow.

The attacked robot’s eyes quickly flashed purple light. “Requesting backup, requesting backup!”

Lou Ting pinned down the robot and began searching for its power source. As long as the central control system wasn’t damaged, it was difficult to defeat the robot. Moreover, he had nothing in his hands and was fighting the robot barehanded, wearing himself out in the process.

However, after searching around, he couldn’t find the power source, but he did find a chip.

Thinking that the chip might contain the recorded footage, Lou Ting decisively pulled out the chip and paid no further attention to the fallen robot. He ran downstairs.

The robot’s request for backup was a direct contact with all robot systems.

If he didn’t run now, more robots would come in later, and he would have nowhere to escape.

Just then, He Yunzhou’s lazy voice came from upstairs.

“Little fox, where do you want to go? It’s dangerous outside. Don’t wander around.”

Lou Ting’s footsteps paused, and he heard He Yunzhou say again, “Behave and stay on the ninth floor, or… I’ll spank your butt.”

Hearing those words, Lou Ting wasted no time and opened the door to the stairwell, heading downstairs.

“Tsk.”

The hallway was empty, and the sound almost echoed. At the same time, the door between the eighth and seventh floors clicked shut, automatically locking.

Is the ml that dumb that he saw clothes on the floor, and a fox in the middle of the clothes and assumed mc had escaped and a random fox was chilling there? I know that happened in like the second chapter but I can’t stop thinking about it.

    1. EA translations

the clothes are hidden under the sofar or something. And there was no cameras that time. MC is also well-known as unable to change his form.

    2. EA translations

The MC managed to conceal his clothes under the sofa. He wasn't in the middle of the clothes.
