Oops! I Mistook the Target of My Strategy. Now What?

Chapter 36: Phoenix Tail Flower (VI)

Sui Ning and Xie Changzhou stood shoulder to shoulder, gazing quietly into the void.

Although Sui Ning didn’t know what Xie Changzhou had done to invite Master Dingyuan from the Jingchan sect, she believed in him. He had never made a wrong decision before.

The two stood quietly, and behind them, Ah Yan couldn’t help but speak up: “Master, Sui Ning, I’m still hungry.”

The sudden interruption made by You Ruoming caused Ah Yan, who had just taken a few bites, to feel a strange emptiness in his stomach at the smell of the hotpot that filled the room.

Ah Yan looked at Sui Ning with pitifully bright eyes, looking wronged.

Sui Ning looked at him and suddenly burst out laughing. She walked over and pinched his little face, speaking gently: “Ah Yan is so wronged; let’s eat then.”

She led Ah Yan over, and when You Ruoming appeared, Xie Changzhou immediately cast a barrier to protect them. The ingredients were still quietly placed, the fire under the hotpot was still burning, and the soup base in the pot was boiling.

Ah Yan obediently sat down, his watery eyes looking at Sui Ning. She smiled helplessly and began to serve him dishes.

The three of them were somewhat like… a family of three.

Suddenly, Xie Changzhou’s ears felt hot, and he quickly looked away as if his gaze were scalded by something. His heartbeat was gradually speeding up, and an inexplicable throbbing came over him.

He was somewhat excited and somewhat expectant.

His long eyelashes, like crow feathers, drooped to hide his emotions; he lowered his eyebrows, and his gaze fell on the porcelain bowl of food that Sui Ning had just served him.

Laughter and cheers from Sui Ning and Ah Yan could be heard occasionally in the temple, mixed with Xie Changzhou’s occasional thanks. The night grew darker and darker.

It was already the hour of the tiger( between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.), and Ah Yan and Sui Ning had already gone to bed. Xie Changzhou sat on the cushion, his eyes slightly closed, and a pure and crystal-clear spiritual energy lingered around him.

A gust of wind blew outside the room, and Xie Changzhou suddenly opened his eyes, his expression calm and not surprised.

As expected, more than one of them had come.

A coldness filled his warm eyes; his thin lips pressed tightly together; his sharp jawline tensed; and his gaze towards the outside of the temple was cold and chilly.

The creaking sound of the closed door could be heard, and Du Wang next to him buzzed, eager for him to draw his sword and slay the evil spirits.

Finally, the door collapsed under its weight, and a wave of evil red mist rushed towards Xie Changzhou. The red mist was mixed with piercing screams and howls, and the temple was filled with the smell of blood.

Xie Changzhou’s eyes narrowed, ready to strike, but a sword light suddenly flashed from behind him and decisively cut through the air.

A familiar voice sounded: “Just a few bloodthirsty demons; I’ll take care of them.”

Sui Ning wielded her sword, the Ba Tian, and her sword intent swept through the thick bloody mist, slicing it apart.

Du Wang couldn’t resist the urge to slay the demons, but Xie Changzhou, with his cold, white hands, gently restrained him, his lustrous eyes fixed on Sui Ning.

Intermingled with the dark red demon mist were sparkling white sword lights, and the light pink garment floated about. The bloodthirsty demons’ howls became more pitiful, and Ah Yan opened his eyes in bewilderment.

When he saw a familiar figure amidst the dense demons, he immediately shouted, “Sui Ning!”

Ah Yan transformed into his original form and wanted to rush forward to help, but Xie Changzhou stopped him with his hand and said, “Ningning can handle it, don’t worry.”

Xie Changzhou looked calmly and softly at Sui Ning, his gaze focused.

Seeing his master’s calm and safe appearance, Ah Yan could only sit down beside him and stare at Sui Ning with his dark, little eyes, afraid that she might be in danger.

Sword lights flashed in the red mist; Sui Ning’s garment billowed with spiritual energy; her long hair flew; and her beautiful face was filled with a cold expression.

She silently recited her sword incantation, and Ba Tian’s sword lights suddenly erupted, the long sword flashing like a bright beam. The bloodthirsty demons crowded together, howling and rushing towards her, their twisted, deformed faces strange and sinister.

Sui Ning’s eyes narrowed, and a sword light suddenly broke through the sky, carrying an indisputable resolve, and swept towards the bloodthirsty demons.

The piercing screams of the demons abruptly stopped the moment they collided with Ba Tian’s sword lights, and the enormous and eerie demon mist dissipated.

The temple was once again peaceful, and Sui Ning withdrew her sword and turned to Xie Changzhou and Ah Yan.

Her eyes still had a lingering coldness and murderous intent; the moonlight shone diagonally behind her; her dark hair was covered in silver frost; and her entire person was as noble as a deity.

Xie Changzhou and Sui Ning looked at each other from afar and smiled at each other for a long time.

Ah Yan rushed over and hugged Sui Ning’s waist, turning into his original form. His black eyes were filled with admiration.

“Sui Ning is so amazing.”

Sui Ning smiled and rubbed his little head: “No, no, be humble.”

Although she spoke humbly, her voice was full of pride, and her smile did not hide her pride at all.

Sui Ning looked towards Xie Changzhou with a smile on her face.

Xie Changzhou understood and smiled lightly: “Sui Ning is amazing.”

Suining’s eyes curled, and two small dimples appeared on her cheeks.

“But Sui Ning, why would the blood-eating demon come?” Ah Yan looked at her with confusion.

Sui Ning’s expression darkened as she looked at Ah Yan, and Xie Changzhou’s gaze also fell on him.

Ah Yan, who suddenly became the center of attention, asked: “?”

Xie Changzhou spoke softly: “Because of you.”

Ah Yan was puzzled: “Why? Are they here to capture me?”

Sui Ning nodded and rubbed his furry little head: “Ah Yan, the blood of the divine beast on your body can’t be concealed, and it has attracted these evil creatures.”

She looked down at Ah Yan, her face heavy.

While she was still asleep, she smelled the strong smell of blood gradually approaching her. The system in her mind shouted frantically: [Host, it’s the blood-eating demon.]

Sui Ning was immediately awakened. She knew about the blood-eating demon, as the system had mentioned it to her before.

“Blood-eating monsters are mischievous creatures that enjoy consuming human blood, especially the fresh blood of children. However, they are very cunning and cowardly, and they tend to bully the weak and fear the strong.

Ah Yan is the young cub of an ancient divine beast, and its blood is particularly nourishing. The attraction to these blood-eating monsters is so strong that they become crazy for it. Even though they fear the powerful Xie Changzhou, their desire drives them to come.

Ah Yan’s round little face wrinkles up. “How dare they come to plot against me! Isn’t our tiger clan’s blood something these lowly creatures cannot suck?”

Sui Ning is taken aback and somewhat incredulous. This is the first time Ah Yan has spoken like this since coming out of Wenjian Peak. Apart from Xie Changzhou, Sui Ning, and Tang Tang, no one else has been seen at the peak. Who taught Ah Yan these dirty words?

She looks at Xie Changzhou, who happens to meet her shocked and surprised gaze.

With her understanding of Xie Changzhou, Sui Ning immediately understands his meaning.

Sui Ning: “…”

It wasn’t me; I didn’t do it. Why would Xie Changzhou suspect her? Can’t Ah Yan have learned it on its own?

Ah Yan is still angrily cursing, “A bunch of ugly monsters still dare to covet me! They are ugly and spendthrifts! Next time, let me take action. I won’t let them go back home and call their mother my name spelled backward.”

“F*ck, I really admire these dogs- um!”

Seeing that Ah Yan is about to continue swearing, Sui Ning quickly covers its mouth.

“Um, Sui Ning!” Ah Yan struggles and shouts with a muffled voice, staring at her with his dark eyes.

Sui Ning blinks at him desperately, indicating that he should stop. Damn it, can’t he see that his master’s face has turned green?

Ah Yan immediately becomes obedient, feeling a sudden chill in its heart.

He forgot that the master is still here, and the master places great importance on etiquette and propriety!

Ah Yan looked timidly towards Xie Changzhou. Xie Changzhou sat calmly on a cushion, his face showing no emotion, but Ah Yan, who had been with him for a hundred years, knew very well that his master was angry.

Ah Yan looked at Sui Ning with pleading eyes, but Sui Ning shrugged, indicating that she couldn’t help. Brave children must bear the consequences of their actions independently.

Xie Changzhou said softly, “Ah Yan, you must be cautious in your words and actions. You are a tiger, not just any ordinary spirit beast.”

Ah Yan walked up sullenly, transformed into his original form, and obediently squatted in front of Xie Changzhou, hanging his little head and whimpering softly, sounding particularly wronged.

Xie Changzhou didn’t say anything; he just looked calmly at Ah Yan.

“Awoo.” Ah Yan lightly pawed at him with his sharp little claws and looked up at him with round, watery eyes.

Sui Ning also looked at Xie Changzhou with a clear meaning: hurry up and hug him; what’s the point of being angry!

Xie Changzhou was a little helpless, sighed lightly, and picked up Ah Yan. “You can’t say such vulgar words in the future. Your words and actions represent the Limitless Sword Sect and the Tiger Clan. Do you understand?”

“Awooo, Awoo.” Ah Yan nodded and rubbed his head against Xie Changzhou’s hand.

After all, he was just a child. Ah Yan soon forgot about the matter of the bloodthirsty monster and fell asleep on Xie Changzhou’s lap.

Sui Ning couldn’t sleep either, so she talked to Xie Changzhou.

“Jianzun, could the bloodthirsty monster be the evil spirit that invaded Yong’an City a few days ago?”

Xie Changzhou shook his head. “No, the residual evil spirit in Yong’an City doesn’t have the bloody smell of the bloodthirsty monster. The bloodthirsty monster only arrived in Yong’an City today.”

In other words, the bloodthirsty monster was simply attracted by Ah Yan’s divine beast bloodline.

So, what was the evil spirit that came to Yong’an City a few days ago?

Why are the people of Yong’an City so panicked that they closed their doors at dusk?

“Jianzun, Yong’an City, is under the jurisdiction of the Changming Sword Sect. Why hasn’t anyone from the Changming Sword Sect come to manage it? The whole city is strange, and we haven’t seen any disciples of the Changming Sword Sect along the way.”

This is such a prosperous city, and logically, there should be many people sent to guard and protect it, but they haven’t encountered a single disciple of the Changming Sword Sect along the way. It’s really strange.

Xie Changzhou patiently explained to her: “Ningning, each of the major sects has its own history. Five hundred years ago, Yong’an City was governed by the Yougu and Mo Ling families, and it was once the main city that overshadowed all the other sects.”

“Yougu and Mo Ling families had some disputes with the Changming Sword Sect. They destroyed an outstanding disciple who was the son of the sect leader at that time, and then the Changming Sword Sect and Yong’an City became like water and fire.”

“Later on, both the Yougu and Mo Ling families were wiped out, and the Lord of the mortal realm requested the major sects to send people to guard Yong’an City. Since the Changming Sword Sect was closest, they were assigned to it.”

Sui Ning nodded in understanding: “But the Changming Sword Sect is immoral. They took Yong’an City but didn’t take care of it, leaving it abandoned here.”

Xie Changzhou smiled lightly, showing approval in his eyes: “Yes, Ningning is clever.”

Sui Ning sighed and sneered: “A major sect with no sense of responsibility, why should these people suffer because of the disputes among their leaders?”

A major sect chose to vent their anger on the people of a city due to some disputes, abandoning and neglecting them. However, it can also be seen that Yong’an City was prosperous and grand even five hundred years after the support of the sects had been lost. The Yougu and Mo Ling families governed Yong’an City well, laying a good foundation for its development today.

But… why does Changming Sword Sect always have conflicts with other sects?

Sui Ning was a little speechless: “Isn’t the relationship between Changming Sword Sect and Jingchan Sect not good? How can a large sect always make enemies everywhere?”

Xie Changzhou looked a bit embarrassed and paused for a moment before speaking: “Ningning, there are many old things between sects that make it difficult to determine who is right and who is wrong. Many things are too old, and the truth has been lost in the passing down of generations.”

Sui Ning suddenly leaned closer to him, her face full of excitement: “So, Jianzun, what exactly happened to Changming Sword Sect?”

The sweet fragrance on her body came over, and her beautiful face was full of curiosity, with bright and translucent dark eyes.

Xie Changzhou was momentarily tongue-tied. He was not a gossip person and had only heard about these things but had not really investigated the truth.

“Jianzun, can you describe it for me?”

Sui Ning’s eyes were curved with two small dimples, and she was full of smiles.

Xie Changzhou was a bit helpless: “Ningning, the conflict between Changming Sword Sect and Jingchan Sect is an ancient sect feud from a thousand years ago, and it involves internal secrets of the sect. I cannot say much about it.”

“As for the matter with Yong’an City…” Xie Changzhou paused for a moment, seeing Sui Ning’s eager eyes, and sighed slightly, then continued: “The legitimate son of the previous Changming Sword Sect Master, Ji Qiu, died in Yong’an City.”

“Ji Qiu loved the daughter of You Ruoming, You Zhaozhao, and came to propose marriage, but somehow died in Yong’an City.”

“Changming Sword Sect came to demand justice, but the Yougu and Mo Ling families only said he died from a demon attack, so Changming Sword Sect became angry, and the two sides broke off relations.”

Sui Ning nodded: “So Changming Sword Sect believes that Ji Qiu’s death is related to You Zhaozhao, but Yougu and Mo Ling families deny this, so Changming Sword Sect is angry, and the two factions cut off relations.”

“okay.”

Sui Ning sighed with emotion. “Although it’s certainly heartbreaking that the Changming Sword Sect lost Ji Qiu, I don’t know if his death is related to the Yougu family or the Mo Ling family. Regardless, it’s not right to take out frustration on the innocent people in the city.”

“So, what does Ji Qiu’s death have to do with the Yougu family and the Mo Ling family?” Sui Ning pondered, tilting her head. “Could it be related to You Zhaozhao? Wasn’t he the one who came to ask for her hand in marriage?”

Xie Changzhou shook his head, looking at her gently. “Ningning, I don’t know the truth of the matter, so I can’t comment on it.”

It had been five hundred years since the incident, and the head of the Changming Sword Sect had died at the hands of the demon clan two hundred years ago. Few of the people involved in the incident were still alive, and the truth was long gone.

However, Sui Ning still felt that something was amiss. She quickly asked, “What about the Mo Ling family? Even if Ji Qiu died in Yong’an City, it’s understandable that the Changming Sword Sect would suspect the Yougu family. But why would they suspect the Mo Ling family, who had nothing to do with the incident?”

Xie Changzhou lowered his head in thought for a moment before looking at her and saying, “The young master of the Mo Ling family, Mo Huai’an, and You Zhaozhao have been childhood sweethearts. Although they haven’t made any formal engagements, everyone considers them a perfect match.”

“So, the Changming Sword Sect suspects that Mo Huai’an is also involved in Ji Qiu’s death? After all, Ji Qiu came to ask for You Zhaozhao’s hand in marriage, and she and Mo Huai’an are a couple.”

“Exactly.”

So it was a love triangle after all.

Sui Ning sighed, finally understanding. “Ji Qiu’s death caused a complete rift between the two sects, and it’s unfortunate that the innocent people in the city have to suffer. Now that evil spirits have entered the city, no one is there to manage it.”

Judging by the reactions of the people in the city, something terrible had happened that left them fearful and wary of outsiders.

As for whether it is related to the evil spirit that came a few months ago, it is not yet certain.

Sui Ning sat quietly with her knees hugged, looking at the dense night outside the temple, feeling a little depressed.

Yong’an City was just as turbulent as Nanjing City, and she just wanted to find the Phoenix Tail Flower to help Xie Changzhou detoxify. She hoped that there would be no more mistakes on this trip.

For some reason, she felt uneasy, as if something had been overlooked, but she couldn’t remember what it was.

The sky gradually revealed some light, and tonight had passed.

Ah Yan, who had transformed into his original form, was wrapped around Sui Ning’s side, rubbing against her from time to time. Sui Ning gently stroked his furry little head.

Xie Changzhou still looked calm, without any fatigue from staying up all night.

As a cultivator of his level, he had abundant energy, and even if he didn’t sleep, it didn’t affect him much. Sui Ning, who was mentally exhausted, couldn’t help but feel a little envious.

If she had this kind of energy, she could cultivate all night and reach the pinnacle of her cultivation.

The system sneered: “[Don’t flatter yourself. Clearly, you just want to listen to me tell you stories all night long.]”

Its host didn’t get up until the sun was up and spent the night before bed, not cultivating but instead wrapping herself in the system to listen to stories happily.

Sui Ning weakly replied, “I will definitely improve in the future.”

The system replied, “[Stop making empty promises.]”

A clear and gentle voice came from beside her: “Ningning, you haven’t slept all night. Why don’t you rest for a while?”

Xie Changzhou’s eyes and eyebrows were warm and moist, with unreserved concern, and Sui Ning’s heart warmed.

“It’s okay; I’m not in big trouble.” Sui Ning stood up, her legs a little numb, and asked him softly, “Jianzun, what are we going to do today?”

Xie Changzhou stood up and looked down at Sui Ning, who was half-bent over and massaging her legs. His cold, white hand transferred warm and gentle spiritual energy to her legs, dissolving the numbness and soreness.

“We are going to investigate the evil spirits in the city today,” Xie Changzhou said.

Sui Ning was taken aback and looked at him blankly. “Why? Shouldn’t we be looking for beasts?”

“If I tear open the void, the whole Yong’an City will be destroyed, so we can only wait for it to come out on its own,” Xie Changzhou replied.

“But how do we know when the beast will appear?” Sui Ning asked.

If the beast does not appear for ten years, do they have to wait for ten years?

Sui Ning could wait, but Xie Changzhou’s cold poison could not.

Xie Changzhou looked at the void outside the temple, his eyebrows and eyes distant and cold, his profile clear.

“It will come out soon. It’s getting restless, and there are faint fluctuations in the void.”

The formation that suppresses the beast is about to collapse, and Xie Changzhou can sense its frenzy and the faint movements in the void.

At the latest, in three months, the beast will break out of the void.

Sui Ning picked up Ah Yan and gently stroked him, following Xie Changzhou’s gaze outside the temple. “So Jianzun wants to solve the problem of the evil spirits in the city first, and give the people inside the city a clean slate?”

Xie Changzhou nodded slightly.

Sui Ning understood. This was Xie Changzhou.

If he turned a blind eye to the situation in Yong’an City, he would not be worthy of the title of White Jade Sword Saint.

Xie Changzhou had the world in mind.

Sui Ning was holding Ah Yan’s hand, walking side by side with Xie Changzhou. They were now far from the city area, and there weren’t many people living in the villages near the city, but the people they met along the way were all staring at them warily.

A woman dressed as a farmer was washing clothes by the river. Sui Ning walked up to her and gently called out, “Hello, we–“

“I don’t know!” the woman interrupted before Sui Ning could finish, hastily picking up the clothes she hadn’t finished washing and leaving.

Sui Ning sighed and turned to look at Xie Changzhou and Ah Yan behind her, feeling helpless. This was already the fifth person she had asked for directions from on the way, but they all left before she could finish a sentence, and some even ran away before she got close.

Did something grow on her face that made people so scared?

Sui Ning waved her hand and said, “Jianzun, it seems like we can’t rely on asking for information anymore; we have to do it ourselves.”

“Okay, Ningning, thank you,” Xie Changzhou said calmly.

Sui Ning sighed again and was about to leave with Ah Yan when several loud voices suddenly came from nearby.

Xie Changzhou’s expression turned cold as he quickly headed towards the source of the sound, with Sui Ning holding Ah Yan and following closely behind.

Several children were gathered in a wheat field, throwing stones at a person lying on the ground in the middle, still cursing loudly.

“My mom told us not to play with you; can you just leave us alone!”

“Mother said you would bring calamity upon us.”

“Go to hell!”

Xie Changzhou pursed his lips, and before he could stop it, a familiar voice rang out, full of arrogance.

“A few brats have been running wild. Today, I’ll teach you how to behave!”

The resolute sword light knocked the few beaten children away. The children who fell to the ground started crying, and their sharp cries echoed through the entire wheat field, making Sui Ning’s heart tremble.

Sure enough, the woman in red couldn’t stand it any longer and said impatiently, “Why are you crying? What are men crying for? Cry again, and I’ll sew your mouths shut.”

The sharp cries stopped immediately. The woman in red smiled satisfactorily, helped up the child who had just been pushed to the ground, and patted off the dirt on his body.

Several children wanted to sneak away, but a long sword flew straight at them and stuck in front of them.

“Stop; do you think I’ll let you go?”

She walked up to the children, her expression indifferent and lazy, with a hint of arrogance.

“Little brats, did your mother not teach you that only dogs look down on people?”

The children choked and dared not speak.

She smiled again. “Don’t keep saying ‘your mother, your mother’, what? Do you have to bring your mother along when you go out? Your mother’s face has been disgraced by you alone.”

The few children were scared into tears but still choked and dared not speak.

The woman in red smiled happily, touched the head of one of the children, and scared him so much that he was trembling.

“Don’t speak with a dirty mouth. The mouth is not for spitting filth. Go back and tell your mother to remember to use your brain when speaking. Do you want to turn your brain into dough by making dough every day?”

Several children ran away, crying loudly.

The woman smiled with satisfaction; her phoenix eyes curled like a crescent moon.

Sui Ning and Xie Changzhou: “…”

Well, they finally knew who taught Ah Yan the foul language.

Sui Ning shook her head helplessly. “It’s Tang Tang.”

The woman in red turned her head, her face beautiful and cheerful, her hair tied high in a ponytail. She was none other than Tang Tang.

Tang Tang’s face lit up with joy and excitement. “Sui Ning, Jianzun?”

Ah Yan, who was ignored on the side, was dissatisfied. “What about me?”

Tang Tang looked at him with a slight hint of confusion on her face. “Who are you?”

Ah Yan was speechless and pouted. “I’m Ah Yan!”

“You transformed! Little Ah Yan is amazing!”

She rushed over and pinched Ah Yan’s round face, but he pushed her hand away with disdain.

Tang Tang wasn’t angry either, and she smiled as she looked at his pouting face.

Sui Ning was a little amused and whispered, “Tang Tang, why are you here?”

Tang Tang’s face suddenly froze, and she lowered her voice and said, “My master sent me out to do something. I was supposed to go back, but a few days ago, when I passed by here, my jade pendant suddenly emitted a burst of light.”

She lowered her head and took off the jade pendant hanging from her body. The jade was of excellent quality, crystal clear and warm, with a faint glow.

Xie Changzhou took it over, and his glassy eyes carefully examined it. Tang Tang asked him softly, “Can Jianzun see anything?”

“I don’t know what this is.” Xie Changzhou shook his head, his expression somewhat cold, and continued, “But it contains a powerful force.”

He looked up at Tang Tang and said word for word, “This should be a top-quality artifact, worth a fortune.”

Tang Tang’s beautiful eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at the jade pendant in her hand.

She had been carrying this jade pendant for over a hundred years, always treating it as a decoration. How could it be a top-quality artifact?

Sui Ning, beside her, was somewhat surprised. Did Xie Changzhou not know about this jade?

The system was somewhat helpless: “[Host, I already told you that it’s a treasure of the Mo Ling Family. Do you take your family heirloom out for others to see every day? Besides, Xie Changzhou wasn’t even born when the jade disappeared.] “

So Xie Changzhou didn’t know of the existence of the jade.

Sui Ning felt uneasy in her heart, even Xie Changzhou did not know about the jade, so she couldn’t directly mention that this was a treasured heirloom of the Mo Ling family, or Xie Changzhou would definitely suspect her.

She felt a little overwhelmed and rubbed her forehead with her hand.

Suddenly, she felt a tug on her sleeve and looked down to see a pair of clear and bright eyes.

The little boy looked about eight or nine years old, with a dirty face but a pair of unusually bright and innocent eyes.

He timidly said, “Thank you.”

Sui Ning smiled and gently rubbed his head, “It was this girl who saved you, you don’t need to thank me.”

The little boy turned to Tang Tang and said in a low voice, “Thank you, sister.”

Tang Tang also smiled and responded, “It was nothing.”

She paused for a moment and then asked him, “Do those kids often bully you?”

The child’s skin was covered with scars and bruises; it looked like he had been beaten many times.

The little boy was stunned, his bright eyes gradually turning red as he lowered his head and twisted his hands.

“They said I was a coffin baby, that I was cursed, and they wouldn’t let me play with them.”

Sui Ning was taken aback. A coffin baby?

She looked at Xie Changzhou with confusion and puzzlement.

Xie Changzhou patiently explained, “A coffin baby is a child born in a coffin after a pregnant woman has died. According to folk beliefs, such children carry the resentment and negative energy of the deceased and are considered to bring bad luck.”

So this little boy was born in a coffin?

Sui Ning looked at him in amazement; the little boy’s head was lowered very low, and tears were falling down his cheeks.

She didn’t know what to say to comfort him: “Don’t cry; we didn’t mean to say anything bad about you.”

“It’s true; who said you were cursed? If you really brought bad luck, how could you have survived until now? You would have been eaten by those evil spirits that were summoned.”

Her soft cooing didn’t stop the little boy from crying, and his cries grew louder and louder.

His voice choked up: “But recently, many children have gone missing in the city, and people think it’s because of my bad luck.”

Sui Ning froze in shock, looking towards Xie Changzhou and Tang Tang.

Tang Tang looked shocked, while Xie Changzhou’s eyes were cold.

Missing children?

Many children have gone missing in the city?
