Entangling Sweetly with my Adorable Wife: Baby, Where Are You Trying to Escape To?

Chapter 63-64

Chapter 63 – The Pheasant and the Phoenix 1

It was only when Li Jia reported back to the Interpol Brigade that she learned that they lost a member of the force.

But that wasn’t the worst of it, when Li Jia and Yun Bin came to report, the head teacher and the school informed them that they had to go back to school on the grounds that they weren’t suitable for an internship in the Interpol Brigade as they were still sophomores.

“Really? Why so sudden?”

Li Jia wondered about what she lacked. She didn’t do enough? Recalling what she did, she had carefully done the logistics job. She was diligent and there didn’t seem to be a situation that she didn’t manage to deal with. There wasn’t an incident where she was swept off her feet.

“Is it because of the mission failure?” Li Jia was carrying her bag as  she asked Yun Bin who was leaving with her, they were on the way out of the Interpol Brigade.

“Our mission didn’t fail. Our responsibility was only informing the brigade when he leaves.”

Yun Bin felt like the problem didn’t center around the school or the brigade, but from Lu Yichen

Qin Mutian’s daughter, Qin Ya.

Yun Bin frowned when he found out about the woman’s identity. Qin Ya, this insidious woman, promised to participate in the role-playing activity, but ended up backing out halfway to look for someone in the spur of the moment.

Now, she was back again with her cynicism.

“How come I didn’t remember seeing Ms. Qin at the ball? Does the Qin family have the qualifications to attend?” Yun Bin sneered.

“Oh, you also hooked up with Yun shao. You really have skills,” the woman wearing the sunglasses sneered, her lips curled. “Ms. Li, don’t think that just because the Lu family is behind you that you can fly on a branch and become a phoenix. Our Li family isn’t someone a lowly merchant like you can reach.”

Li Jia frowned, this was the first time she met this woman. “Who are you calling a lowly merchant? You run here to throw a tantrum, how well-bred.”

“Li Jia, you better watch your mouth when you speak! This is the real young lady of the Li family, don’t think that because you have the same surname, you can climb on Old Marshal Li!” Qin Ya glared at Li Jia, full of contempt as if she was the real first lady of the Li family.

“Hmph! A pheasant wants to enter our Li family’s gates? What a dream!”

Do you think that anyone could come to the Li family and claim a piece of the pie?

Li Jia was speechless at the woman who exhibited so much self-importance. The real first Miss of the Li family? What did she mean?

“Miss Liu is really the one who was a pheasant wanting to be a phoenix. Have you forgotten where you came from?” Yun Bin knew the information of the woman who came to threaten Li Jia. He poked her thoughts. “Are you afraid that if the Old Marshal found his real granddaughter, you, the impostor, won’t have a place as a counterfeit?”

“You! Surname Yun, you better stop talking like that! Hmph!” The sunglasses woman snorted, closed the window, and drove away like a racer.

Li Jia looked puzzled. “Who was that?”

“The one who spoke to you was the adopted granddaughter of Old Marshal Li. She was surnamed Liu,” Yun Bin explained.

Chapter 64: The Pheasant and the Phoenix 2

“The old marshal originally had two sons, but Admiral Li and his wife died in the line of duty more than ten years ago, and Admiral Li now is the second son of the Old Marshal. Unfortunately, the second son —the current Admiral Li — was shot during a counter-terrorism campaign many years ago, causing him to become infertile. When the Admiral’s wife heard the news and thought that something happened to him, she received a great shock and had a miscarriage. The Li family had no descendants, and Marshal Li’s knees were void of grandchildren, so he chose to raise an orphan as his granddaughter.”

Li Jia nodded as she realized that this was the case.

But that woman was very disgusting. Li Jia only said a few words to the Marshal, how could she come to humiliate her like this?

“Jia’er, is your surname really Li? Maybe…”

“No, my grandpa told me that I took my grandma’s surname.”

This must just be a coincidence. It seemed impossible that Li Lao’s wife was also surnamed Li.

Lu Yichen, on the other hand, had a very complicated mood.

In his hand, he was holding a test report. He didn’t know what to do with it.

He recalled how kind and amiable Marshal Li had been to Jiajia. Probably no one knew that a grandchild of the Li family still existed and was in exile.

The revelation of this matter would be five years later. Marshal Li’s first son and wife gave birth to a baby abroad.

At that time, the Li couple was on a mission, and they weren’t able to send the news to the family. As a result, both of them died and became heroes because of the mission.

It was only after the Light-born conglomerate came to H city to discuss business, the person was a close friend of Mrs. Li that this secret was revealed. The close friend of Mrs. Li misidentified the adopted granddaughter of the Li family as the real granddaughter. The person mentioned that the adopted granddaughter looked different from when she was a child.

It was during this time that the Li family realized that his deceased first son had left a child.

At the time, the news exploded. The Li family’s power was so overwhelming that all the major sites, newspapers, magazines, and mainstream media were all reporting about it. He ended up hearing about the news.

But then, he died in the middle of a vendetta less than half a month later, and he didn’t pay much attention to the results.

In retrospect, and in light of the current status, the possibility that Jiajia was the child was huge.

There was no ball in his previous life, and Jiajia didn’t have any interaction with the Li family. Naturally, she didn’t arouse their attention.

The Li family were so famous in the military and political circles that they wouldn’t bother reading entertainment newspapers. Qiao Nan’s explosive confession was only announced in entertainment newspapers, and Li Lao missed to make the connection with Jiajia.

Jiajia said that she was brought up by her grandmother, and she took her surname.

Jiajia came to the Lu family at the age of three while he was eight. He recalled Grandma Li’s appearance, she looked like a pure-blooded H citizen and not a foreigner.

The deceased Admiral’s wife was a foreigner, and the Old Marshal’s wife was also a foreign noblewoman, so there was no way that the woman was Jiajia’s grandmother. In his previous life, he didn’t think about this.

What was the truth?

He stared at the DNA test report in his hand.

Although Jiajia’s grandmother passed away many years ago, she didn’t like cremation, so her body was intact. It was still possible to extract DNA.

The report in his hand was between Jiajia and her grandma, it shows that there was no blood connection! Not even intergenerational!

This meant that Jiajia wasn’t Grandma Li’s granddaughter!

This old woman’s surname wasn’t Li, and he was afraid that Jiajia didn’t even know that the person she treated as her real grandmother was surnamed Song.

“Why are you suddenly curious about Jiajia’s grandmother?” Master Lu wore his old-fashioned eyeglasses, but his eyes stared at Lu Yichen through the lenses. “It’s been years since she passed away.”

“Did Jiajia’s grandmother lived in England fifteen years ago?” Originally, he wanted to look into it for more details, but the time gap was too long that it was difficult to find traces of the old woman.

In spite of this, there was an old man in the family who knew Jiajia’s grandma the best.

“What’s the reason you’re asking this?” As expected of an old, slick man, he grasped the point and yet didn’t answer directly.
