Debugging in Book Series

Chapter 15.1

“I’m utter rubbish at being a matchmaker.”

Duan Chi questioned, “Do you still recall what I told you before?”

Duan Xiuwen nodded his head in response.

Despite their inherent mutations, they still had their mind and will to call their own. Furthermore, they could still reign over their bodies as long as they possessed sufficient perseverance.

Not only that, but he was also adamant that he would be the judge of choosing his loved one without being influenced by his body.

Only when his irritable mood began to dissipate somewhat did he assert firmly, “I won’t transfer to another university anymore.”

After all, he no longer wished to run away and was prepared to face this issue with equanimity.

Immediately right after, Duan Chi sent him a video clip.

One look was all it took to discover that it was an aerial video of a renowned snow-capped mountain in Luay, allowing viewers to see towering mountain ranges with a craggy landscape from an elevated perspective.

[Duan Chi: Fancy going for a spin to the mountains with me?]

A sudden frown warped Jing Xi’s features as he had an impression that Duan Chi was not referring to them taking a cable car to the scenic area.

Sure enough, it took the other no time to send yet another message.

[Duan Chi: I’ll take you there in my original form1 I would have translated it as ‘beast/beastal form’ but the author had it as 原(original) 身(body/form). So I just followed the name the author used. .]

At this juncture, Jing Xi had no choice but to admit that Duan Chi had piqued his interest.

That jump yesterday ended sooner than he would have liked, as he did not even manage to catch a glimpse of Duan Chi’s original form. However, from the photo he found ages ago whilst searching for the Lupinus Mutants on the web, he was aware of how overpowering his original form was. As such, the image of riding this sort of massive beast on the snow-capped mountain was far too enticing for anyone to turn down the offer.

Be that as it may, his reasoning ability was still intact. Since he was here to debug this book series, he had no intention of being involved in any relationship issues.

For this bound relationship of theirs, Jing Xi merely wished to meet up and provide him with some of his blood once in a while to ensure CEO Duan’s well-being.

[Jing Xi: Nah, I’ll pass. I suffer from snow blindness and have a fear of heights.]

Even so, Duan Chi turned a blind eye to Jing Xi’s message.

[Duan Chi: I will only be taking you out for a spin. Rest assured, I won’t utter a single word throughout the journey.]

In the face of the temptation, Jing Xi kept a tight rein on his desires and even went as far as to turn Duan Chi down.

Elsewhere, Duan Chi was staring down at Jing Xi’s refusal with narrowed eyes.

His instincts were undoubtedly telling him that the other party would enjoy this, yet for something like this to occur, he suspected they probably wished to keep him at arm’s length. With that in mind, the corners of his mouth quirked up, and his efforts to persuade the other came to a halt. Since he had all the patience in the world for this young man, there was no harm for him to make another attempt next time.

Now that Jing Xi had forgone such an enticing temptation, a moment of annoyance pricked his heart.

Even after sipping coconut water on a boat out at sea, he was still miffed about having to turn Duan Chi’s offer down and gave an interjection of vexation.

On a row of deck chairs, the dandies with coconuts in their arms turned their heads in Jing Xi’s direction at the sound. “What’s wrong?”

Jing Xi sighed, “I’m just finding it a shame that I didn’t consent to my beauty’s enticing proposal this morning.”

At a loss for words, the several dandies exclaimed inwardly, ‘What the f*ck would that be? Defeat Yi Jun and take over the family business, or join forces with the Jin family and have them annex the Yi family? Otherwise, could it be that he merely wished for them to enter a romantic relationship and go about parading themselves before Yi Jun, hand in hand, for the sake of pissing him off?’

Jing Xi challenged, “What’s with that expression of yours?”

Simultaneously, the dandies shook their heads in negation.

Despite that, Jing Xi had no desire to get to the bottom of it. As such, he pushed this matter to the back of his mind and let his hair down to have some fun before his university life began.

As for Duan Xiuwen, the doctors decided to discharge him from the hospital today. With that, he lost no time in informing his two childhood friends of his decision.

Even though the two wolflings had seen this coming, their hearts were twinging in pain at the thought of them studying in different universities. In an instant, they rushed forward and pulled him into their embrace.

Now that something had happened during their vacation, none of them were in the mood to have fun. Deeming this an incredibly inauspicious region, they headed back with Duan Chi.

In contrast, Jin Yumeng’s mood remained untouched by all that had occurred. Her travel itinerary proceeded as planned — She enjoyed several days of fun-filled adventure until the day before classes started and met up with the dandies to return home together.

Half an hour later, Yi Jun got word that she had returned and rushed over to see her. Yet, his endeavor ended up fruitless, as Jin Yumeng refused to meet him.

She was well aware that someone must have tipped Yi Jun off for him to have made his way over so swiftly. Nevertheless, her parents knew her far too well, so they merely extended hospitality by allowing him to enter their home and made no move to coerce her into heading downstairs.

Despite having made an apology to her parents ages ago, the increasingly haggard Yi Jun still stared longingly at the flight of stairs as soon as he stepped into the house, painting an exceptionally pitiful picture.

Owing to the long-standing friendship between the Jin and Yi families, both parents were able to watch their two children grow up. Although his actions had enraged Jin Yumeng’s parents, they were aware that deep down, he was a good kid, and their daughter would always hold a special place in his heart. Hence, not once did they hurl any harsh remarks in his direction. Be that as it may, they still showed him the door when they saw no traces of their daughter descending the stairs.

Stricken by this agonizing pain, Yi Jun drove around the streets aimlessly before finding himself downing drinks at a bar. Incidentally, he invited a couple of friends to join him for a night out.

Back then, it was through his introduction that several dandies were acquainted with Yi Zhou. After catching a glimpse of his dispirited and pained countenance, they exchanged glances and tacitly decided to keep a certain matter from him.

After all, they were unsure of the exact details themselves. In any case, they now found Young Master Zhou more to their liking, as opposed to the elite Yi Jun. Regardless of what the future held, all they were required to do was sit back and watch them unfold.

As it turned out, their plan had gone awry after a couple of drinks.

One of the dandies patted him on his shoulders and slurred, “Our dear lady is already going out with your brother, so I’m sure she’ll become y-your future aunt. Now, let’s stop thinking about her.”

Upon hearing that, the revelation hit Yi Jun like a bucket of cold water. In a split second, he sobered up enough to sputter, “What did you just say?”

“…” At this juncture, the others could not help but curse inwardly, ‘F*ck!’

Yet, the same dandy continued, “We happened to travel to the same place and… saw everything.”

One look was all it took to determine that something awful was about to occur. A cacophony of voices assailed Yi Jun’s ears, wanting to clarify the matter.

“No, don’t listen to him, alright? Your brother was with us these past few days.”

“That’s right! All they’ve done is walk around the sacred tree once and nothing more!”

That dandy interrupted, “They even stayed in a room for a long time and… Nnggh…”
