The conversation wasn’t finished yet, and Yun Feiwu interrupted with a smile, “I told you, I won’t do it. We don’t need a contract for this, love is a mutual thing, not a transaction. Little Xia, you agree, right?”
There was a moment of silence.
Xia Shutong felt her face burning and softly responded, “Mm.”
At that moment, a knocking sound was heard.
“Breakfast seems to have arrived, I’ll go get it.” Xia Shutong hopped off the bed and hurried towards the door.
After they both silently washed up and finished breakfast, the awkward atmosphere finally began to dissipate.

And the nickname was…
“Maomao, Wife, meow meow kiss.”
The corner of Xia Shutong’s eye twitched involuntarily. She almost threw away her phone in disbelief.
The profile picture had to be Yun Feiwu’s, but the nickname. What was she thinking when she was drunk?
“Maomao?” Xia Shutong muttered softly, feeling a sense of familiarity with those words. “Is that your nickname?”
“Yes.”
Yun Feiwu nodded with a smile, then yawned, “You came up with it, Little Xia. You’ve been calling me that for a while.”
Pausing for a couple of seconds, Yun Feiwu added, “I really like it.”
“Oh…” Xia Shutong’s hand trembled as she deleted the five words “meow meow kiss” from the nickname, leaving only “Maomao.”
Even though she couldn’t quite associate Yun Feiwu’s image with a “cat*,” if she had to describe it, it was more akin to a wolf or a husky.
** The word “Maomao” could be a pet name for a baby or a small child. It can also be a nickname for someone who is cute or fluffy. In this context, the word “Maomao” referred to a pet or a cat specifically “kitty”.
She wondered why she used to call her that.
For fun?
Oh…
Xia Shutong couldn’t help but sneer inwardly.
Yet, she didn’t actually dislike those two words. In fact, they felt oddly familiar. Still, she wasn’t quite ready to call Yun Feiwu “Maomao” so openly.
Swiping the screen, she glanced at her schedule and asked, “Yun Feiwu, after we return to Hai City, do you have any plans?”
“I had a few scripts waiting for me to review when I got back. Once they’re finalized, I’ll probably need to start shooting again,” Yun Feiwu replied casually. “And you?”
“As the year comes to an end, there’s a lot to handle with Wutong and Tianjun…” Xia Shutong’s voice grew quieter as she spoke, and she became more and more evasive. “Aside from work, I don’t think I’ll have much time. Our next meeting might have to wait until after the new year. Don’t, don’t overthink it. I really am busy, not intentionally avoiding you. If we both have time after the new year, we can go out for dinner.”
Xia Shutong kept her head down, her crimson ears hidden beneath her hair, making them even more noticeable. Her fingers fidgeted together nervously, like a shy young girl proposing a date to her girlfriend.
Suddenly, Yun Feiwu’s heart skipped a beat. Despite this, her tone remained calm and teasing, “So, Little Xia, you’re suggesting a date?”
Xia Shutong hesitated, intending to shake her head, but eventually, she gave a timid nod.
Her voice was tinged with uncertainty, “Yun Feiwu, everything I said today was sincere. I truly want to try liking you and genuinely hope that we can get to know each other better.”
Yun Feiwu tilted her head for a moment before realization dawned, “Oh~ Not a date, but a blind date.”
Blushing with embarrassment, Xia Shutong nodded.
“Rest assured, I’ll cooperate with Little Xia for this blind date,” Yun Feiwu whispered into Xia Shutong’s ear, her voice low. She then playfully lifted her tone at the end, “So, Little Xia, would you like me, your blind date partner to give you an early reward?”
Reward before the blind date outcome is even decided?
Xia Shutong was about to gently push Yun Feiwu away, but her hand ended up ruffling Yun Feiwu’s hair instead.
Yun Feiwu closed her eyes contentedly, even rubbing her head against Xia Shutong’s hand as she’d gotten used to.
“That’s enough.” Xia Shutong retracted her slightly tickled hand, taking a step back. “Reward given.”
Yun Feiwu, however, leaned forward, effectively trapping Xia Shutong beneath her.
Xia Shutong’s nerves instantly tensed up, especially when she noticed the red mark on Yun Feiwu’s neck. She quickly averted her gaze.
Yet, Yun Feiwu simply drew closer, her tongue grazing her own upper palate as she whispered, “Thank you, Sister.”
“N-No, no need!” Xia Shutong fidgeted uncomfortably, shaking her head. “Um… Yun Feiwu, when you go out later, it’s better to cover your neck. I-I’ll give you a scarf.”
With that, Xia Shutong swiftly wriggled out from her position and retrieved a scarf from her luggage.
Holding the scarf, Yun Feiwu walked back to her room from the balcony, looking into the bathroom mirror as she carefully tied the scarf around her neck.
The black scarf against her skin highlighted her snow-white complexion.
It looked beautiful.
Yun Feiwu stared at herself for a while, her delicate smile eventually emerging. The reflection in the mirror was captivating.
She had originally wanted to playfully ask Xia Shutong to help her put on the scarf, but she decided against it.
For now, this was enough.
