Chapter 10  “Fu Sheng, let’s get divorced.”

Taking a deep breath to calm down, Fu Sheng suddenly turned his back to He Yuan, covering his eyes with his hand. He did not want to see He Yuan. He wanted to cool down, least he did something he would regret later. He feared that He Yuan’s words would infuriate him to the point of losing control.

Time passed quietly, with neither of them speaking first. He Yuan leaned against the sofa, cupping his hands, feeling utterly exhausted.

After a long time, Fu Sheng said, “He Beijia’s appearance was not coincidental.”

“Everyone says that AO pairs are meant to be,” Fu Sheng fell silent for a long time before saying, “But this is not true. I have tried, and it is not impossible. During that one month, I allowed He Beijia’s pursuit. Firstly, it was to resolve my doubts, and secondly, his meeting with me was not a coincidence. My political enemies pushed him into my life.”

Fu Sheng squatted down, gripping He Yuan’s wrist and forcefully pulling it down. He held He Yuan’s jaw, staring directly into his eyes and said, “He Yuan, I have already proven with facts that I can resist my physiological instincts. You have no reason to sentence me to death like this.”

He Yuan shook his head slightly and gritted his teeth, saying, “I do not believe it.”

He wanted to apologise because Fu Sheng was sincere, but he just could not believe it. The concealment during that one month completely shattered his trust in an Alpha. Fu Sheng and He Beijia might not have had the chance to do anything, but if something did happen, could Fu Sheng really resist his physiological instincts, be able to resist an Omega who is highly compatible?

No, it was impossible.

Fu Sheng tightened his grip on He Yuan’s chin, as if trying to intimidate him into withdrawing his resistant attitude. However, He Yuan stubbornly met his gaze, refusing to back down or show any weakness, resolute on his beliefs. He no longer displayed the gentle temperament he had in the past.

He Yuan was an intellectual who firmly held his principles, refusing to retreat when it came to matters of principle. It was infuriating and exasperating.

“Fine, you do not believe me!” Fu Sheng said, “It is a fact that I concealed things from you and made you suffer for the sake of power. But it’s also a fact that you lied to me and used me. I will not ask… nor will I pursue…” He actually wanted to ask how much was manipulation and how much was love, but he resisted and did not dare to ask, just like last time. “Can we consider it even?”

He Yuan wanted to ask if such matters could be considered even.

But Fu Sheng sealed his lips, determined not to listen, just like before. He knew He Yuan’s intentions. Some questions could not be perpetually hidden, but there were things that could not be fully revealed either. He would rather have those things remain like thorns in his heart, better than pulling them out and losing his heart entirely.

He Yuan’s cheeks reddened from the prolonged ki*s, and he was a bit out of breath.

He reached out and grabbed Fu Sheng’s hand, looking up at him and shaking his head earnestly. He said, “Fu Sheng, I do like you.”

Fu Sheng tried to retract his hand, not wanting to hear any more. “That’s good. No objections then. Let us end the topic here. Are you hungry? Shall we eat first?”

He Yuan did not let him retreat. “But in my dreams, I am always severely burned, contrasting with the happy and contented lives of Ji Chang, Fang Ji, and their child. I’m scared, Fu Sheng. I’ve always felt that one day, either you or I will say to each other, or we’ll say it together, that we should get a divorce.”

He Yuan wanted to say more but was quickly silenced by Fu Sheng’s urgent ki*s, rendering him unable to utter a word. Fu Sheng whispered as he held He Yuan, “Forget it, let’s leave it at that. I won’t ask anymore, and you won’t tell me. I’ll send He BeiJia away, and I’ll make sure my grandfather doesn’t meddle in our affairs anymore. As for you and Ji Chang… if you want revenge against Fang Ji—he’s not as easy to handle as Fang Gaomin. If you really can’t let go of your resentment, I’ll help you. I really will, He Yuan, please… please don’t say those things anymore.”

He Yuan hugged Fu Sheng’s shoulder and gently rubbed against him. His fingertips revealed a syringe, filled with transparent liquid. It was the syringe Fu Sheng used for the suppressants, placed in its original spot.

Fu Sheng had replicated the exact layout of the original room, even placing the syringe in the same location, making it easily accessible to He Yuan. Since it was an exact replica, even the electronic butler was of the same model.

The electronic butler had a sleep mode, equipped with harmless liquid that induced deep sleep. When the program was activated, the liquid would be catalyzed into gas and dispersed into the air. If the liquid was extracted, a simple command was all that was needed.

Fu Sheng was unaware of these little secrets of household appliances. Even when he smashed the original electronic butler and sent it for analysis, his attention remained focused on programming the command instructions.

He Yuan aimed the needle at Fu Sheng’s neck and whispered, “Fu Sheng, let’s get a divorce.”

Fu Sheng’s face tightened, veins bulged on his forehead, his eyebrows twitched slightly, and his cheeks trembled. It was evident that he was struggling to control his emotions upon hearing He Yuan utter those words.

“Impossible!” Fu Sheng squeezed out these words through his teeth. “He Yuan, don’t even think about it!”

Suddenly, a slight pain shot through his neck. Fu Sheng, highly sensitive to danger, reacted swiftly. Without looking back, he reached back and forcefully grabbed He Yuan’s hand, pulling him down. He Yuan winced in pain, and the syringe fell onto the carpet.

Fu Sheng picked up the syringe, examined it intently for a few seconds, and casually tossed it into the trash bin. He then turned to look at He Yuan, who was curled up on the sofa, scared but holding back his trembling after the failed ambush. Fu Sheng wondered how he dared to do this. How could he keep showing such a pitiful appearance every time, when he was the one who abandoned him?

“How many times is this, He Yuan? How many times have you abandoned me?” Fu Sheng shook his head and sighed, “I shouldn’t have begged you. I should…”

He Yuan nervously scratched the back of his hand, keeping a watchful eye on Fu Sheng.

“F*ck you.”

Author’s Note:
The melodrama is giving me a headache. Sigh.
At this point, the two characters have only touched the surface of their conflicts. There are still some unresolved issues. Both of their personalities are quite stubborn, and He Yuan doesn’t want Fu Sheng to interfere.
Another escape, and Fu Sheng realizes that being submissive won’t work, he needs to be even more reckless. We can finally go back to Chapter 1, yeah.
PS: If there’s a delay in updates or updates every other day, I’ll inform you in the synopsis. If there’s no update, remember to check the synopsis.
As for why some readers are being notified of updates but don’t see any… I honestly don’t know because I’ve also bookmarked this story, but I’ve never received any update notifications.
PPS: Should I include a car scene in the next chapter? Because I don’t know what else to write. If you want it, I’ll write it. If not, I’ll skip ahead to the beginning.
It’s up to you. I can include it or leave it out.

System: Ah, indeed, there was quite a lot of drama, hope chu like this chapter ~
