The fierce storm ravaged the flowers, plants, and trees. Lightning slithered through the heavy clouds, suddenly exploding with a deafening sound, shaking the earth and chilling the hearts of people. In the desolate wilderness, a figure hastily fled, stumbling and falling, with scraped elbows and knees. With a loud “boom,” thunder resounded, illuminating the earth and the figure.

One could see that the slender body was dressed in ill-fitting shirt and shorts, with bloodstains and bruise marks on exposed skin. The pale face resembled paper, on the verge of fainting at any moment. Surprisingly, he never stopped. With courage from an unknown source, he crossed through the forests and mountains, running down from the mountaintop, rolling onto the road, and pausing for a moment. Struggling, he continued forward without looking back.

His pale complexion and terrified expression seemed as if a malicious assailant was chasing him from behind.

In fact, someone was indeed chasing him.

In the Alpha world, there are also class distinctions, such as ordinary Alphas and S-class Alphas.

The more powerful an S-class Alpha is, the rarer they are. Generally, they hold higher social status, and their partners are inevitably exceptional Omegas.

Fu Sheng was such an Alpha, but six years ago, he married a Beta, which shocked many people in their circle.

The reason he married a Beta was due to their compatible pheromones. Unfortunately, the pheromones were fabricated by He Yuan, who deceived Fu Sheng, tricking him into love and marriage. It was only half a year ago when Fu Sheng met an Omega who was a perfect match for him. The deception was exposed, and the truth came to light.

He Yuan pinched his arm, and his pale fingers bore not only rainwater but also numerous kiss marks. These marks and bites covered his entire body, leaving no part untouched. One can imagine the terrifying possessiveness of the perpetrator behind these works.

Unbeknownst to him, the storm had ceased.

The surroundings fell into silence, and He Yuan had a sense of impending danger. Just as he trembled, intending to continue his escape, the other side suddenly became as bright as daylight. The barking of dogs shook the heavens, and a strong light pierced through the jungle. Neat footsteps crossed the road and searched in his direction.

He Yuan didn’t dare to delay and turned around to run.

He remembered that there was a river in this forested area, with steep and rugged terrain near the river. It provided good hiding spots. Coupled with the rainwater and river water, the moisture in the air would dilute the scent, confusing the hunting dogs. As long as he could reach that place and hide, he could escape from Fu Sheng’s pursuit.

He Yuan thought that Fu Sheng would spare him due to their past relationship, but he didn’t expect him to be so ruthless.

The voices of people, footsteps, barking dogs, the sound of water, and the rustling of bushes all merged into a dense and impatient rhythm, constantly pounding He Yuan’s heart. He was getting closer, closer to escaping!

Suddenly, a pitch-black, two-metre-long wolfhound leaped over a person-high bush and viciously pounced on that slender figure. It bared its teeth, drool dripping onto the snow-white neck. It was just one centimetre away, and its sharp fangs would have bitten through He Yuan’s neck.

He Yuan trembled all over, his eyes wide open, devoid of any spirit, gazing at the night sky. The surroundings were silent, filled with people, yet no one dared to make a sound. The low and menacing growl of the guard dogs enclosed their prey. Suddenly, a pair of military boots appeared before him.

Then, a pale and well-defined hand reached out, violently grabbing He Yuan’s hair and lifting him up. The once cold and handsome face, always calm and composed, now twisted with anger. In his eyes burned a cluster of rage, paranoia, and hatred.

“He Yuan, why are you running?” Fu Sheng’s cold words licked at He Yuan’s ears like a snake’s tongue. “Whatever you want, I’m willing to give it to you, one by one. You don’t need to scheme and deceive. Why do you say you’re still running?”

The guard dogs retreated to the side, emitting restless whines, but they were intimidated by Fu Sheng’s terrifying aura and dared not move.

He Yuan dared not move either. He couldn’t even utter a word or raise a finger because the overwhelming pressure of an S-class alpha overwhelmed him, instilling fear deep within his heart, rendering him incapable of resisting this physiological response to humans.

Fu Sheng chuckled lightly, like a mad devil.

Releasing He Yuan’s hair, he gently lifted him up and walked back the way they came. As they walked, he whispered softly, “I’ll tell you a way to establish yourself in the Fu family, to conceive a child, to give birth to an S-class alpha that no one dares to refuse. Oh, I forgot you’re a beta, genetically disadvantaged by nature. But it doesn’t matter. A person’s life is so long, there will always be a time when you can give birth.”

Fu Sheng smiled and uttered chilling words.

“When that time comes, no one dares to defy what you want to do or say.”

“How about it? Isn’t my proposal good? Am I good to you? Even though you deceived and fooled me, I still only have your best interests at heart. He Yuan, are you happy?”

After a long pause, He Yuan wearily closed his eyes. “Fu Sheng, you’re insane.”

Fu Sheng’s expression momentarily twisted, then he sneered and coldly glanced at He Yuan, saying, “He Yuan, I wish I could kill you.”

He Yuan furrowed his brow, curled up his body, feeling pain all over. His heart and stomach ache severely, and though he concealed it, anyone could see. However, his husband, who held him in his arms, remained indifferent, consumed by thoughts of revenge. Meanwhile, He Yuan felt a faint sense of regret. If only he had been wiser and noticed the signs half a year ago, if he had disentangled himself earlier, perhaps they wouldn’t have ended up in this tormenting situation.

**

Six months ago, at the Huashang Luxury Apartments in City S.

Just after taking a shower, He Yuan received a call from Fang Gaomin. Fang Gaomin lazily spoke on the other end of the line, “He Yuan, Fu Sheng got drunk. Come and pick him up.”

He Yuan furrowed his brow, “Where are you guys?”

The other end of the phone was quite noisy, and suddenly someone cheered, creating a string of interference. After a while, He Yuan finally heard Fang Gaomin’s casual response, “At Soulmate.”

Soulmate was a pub founded by Fu Sheng and a few of his friends when they were studying. It had abundant social connections and wealth, and in just a few years, it had become the most renowned bar in City S. Without some status or position, one couldn’t even set foot inside.

Before He Yuan could reply, Fang Gaomin had already hung up the phone.

He dropped the towel and changed into his going-out clothes. Holding the car keys, He Yuan had grown accustomed to Fang Gaomin’s dismissive attitude. Fu Sheng’s group of friends didn’t particularly like him, and of course, given his legal status as Fu Sheng’s spouse, they didn’t secretly sabotage or make things difficult for him. They simply didn’t accept him into their circle.

That was normal, considering He Yuan couldn’t enter their circle either.

Fu Sheng came from an exceptionally prestigious background. His family had been involved in politics, business, and the military for generations, establishing themselves as a powerful and influential dynasty. Furthermore, his family lineage extended beyond just a few generations. Not only was Fu Sheng born into such an esteemed family, but he was also a rare and exceptional top-tier S-class alpha. From a young age, he had been a leader within the same social circle, surrounded by individuals from similar backgrounds.

Although it was already the 22nd century, with open-mindedness and shifting ideologies, and the emphasis on social status diminishing, as long as human society existed, class distinctions would never disappear.

Even in the animal kingdom, hierarchical structures prevailed. The lion king ruled over the pride, lions commanded the savannah, positioned at the top of the food chain. How could they possibly keep company with antelopes?

Therefore, He Yuan understood the actions of Fu Sheng’s group of friends. He didn’t mind and never deluded himself into thinking he could integrate into their circle. He was merely fortunate enough, because of Fu Sheng, to have a glimpse into the highest echelons of society, without any desire to actively participate.

Soon, they arrived at Soulmate. He Yuan directly took the special passage to the uppermost level, familiarly making his way to the private room where Fu Sheng and his friends were. Pushing the door open, the people inside went from a chaotic uproar to an eerie silence the moment they saw him, fixating their gazes on him.

He Yuan paused, lowered his gaze, and located Fu Sheng in the corner. Taking a step forward, he grabbed Fu Sheng’s wrist and said, “Fu Sheng, let’s go home.”

Fu Sheng raised his eyes, his gaze sharp, scanning He Yuan’s face, making it impossible to discern whether he was drunk or not.

“Why are you here?” he asked.

He Yuan was momentarily taken aback by the unrelated question and answered, “I haven’t seen you for several days. Weren’t you supposed to be on a business trip overseas? You came back without telling me.”

Fu Sheng paused for a few seconds, pressed his temples, and replied, “I forgot.”

Supporting his forehead, undoing his cufflinks, rolling up his white shirt sleeves to his elbows, his fingers clearly showing the knuckles, much larger than He Yuan’s hands. At this moment, he firmly pressed his brow, staring straight at He Yuan, emanating an unbearable restlessness.

When He Yuan left, he forgot to inject pheromones, so he couldn’t sense Fu Sheng’s pheromones and had no idea about his current mood. He simply held Fu Sheng’s wrist and spoke softly, advising him not to drink too much and to go home and rest.

Fu Sheng was probably really drunk. It took him a few seconds to think before he reached out and held He Yuan’s hand. He stood up and led him towards the door. Suddenly, Fang Gaomin called out to him, raising his glass and smiling, “Tomorrow is the day when you and Bei Jia will sign with Jia Entertainment. Don’t miss it.”

Bei Jia? He Yuan knew this person. He was a recently popular celebrity, rising to the top in less than two years. His personal style was very unique, seemingly not like an Omega. Many of He Yuan’s students were fans of Bei Jia.

Jia Entertainment was Fang Gaomin’s entertainment company. From his words, it seemed that Bei Jia would become a star under Jia Entertainment. Why did he need to personally inform Fu Sheng?

He Yuan felt puzzled and looked at Fu Sheng. Fu Sheng’s expression was calm as he simply said, “He’s a friend I know who has helped me.”

He Yuan nodded, not asking further questions. When they left, he caught a glimpse of Fang Gaomin standing behind them, watching him with a face that seemed to hold a mixture of smile, pity, and mockery. He Yuan didn’t find it strange since Fang Gaomin had never treated him well, so he just left.

Author’s Note:

Damn, it’s really melodramatic.

Spoiler Alert:

Neither the top nor the bottom is perfect. It’s extremely melodramatic.

The bottom is gentle and a housewife, but not weak.

Includes tropes such as mpreg, coercion, deception, fake pheromones, fated omega, forced confession, mismatched identities, and other melodramatic elements (there might be some I haven’t thought of). If you can accept this bowl of melodrama, then come on in.

Because urban settings and melodrama are not my strong suit, there is a risk of it collapsing (I can’t guarantee that I won’t feel too embarrassed to continue writing halfway through due to excessive melodrama).
