Kisses Make Me Grow Taller

Chapter 109.2 A Billion Fans (2)

“That’s not the case…” Dross quickly played another video, “His name has been cleared for a month so don’t worry, brother. The entire Sheng Ya knows that Little Sweet Cake is innocent. Little Sweet Cake…shouldn’t have to bear this lie anymore.”

The video was not only scrubbed clean of any fabrications by Du Han, recovering its original source, there was also a detailed guide on how information was manipulated as well as the reveal of identity of the person who posted the video.

The video comments first started out with curses that turned into questions, then it became silent and gradually, people started to apologize.

Seeing the people voice out their apologies, Bai Rong actually felt calm. He wasn’t particularly angry nor was he satisfied. All in all probably because he didn’t put these people to heart.

Dross also opened the star network and quickly typed a few words, clicking search.

“Look, there’s even a thread about apologizing to Little Sweet Cake and a thread about licking Little Sweet Cake. There’s billions of replies in each thread, making Little Sweet Cake an internet star in Sheng Ya.”

“What does licking Little Sweet Cake mean?” Mu Chongyan’s gaze turned cold.

“….” Dross suddenly felt his throat get stuck, feeling a little speechless at his little brother’s serious personality, “Licking Little Sweet Cake are people who are fans of Little Sweet Cake, it means they want to lick Little Sweet Cake’s face…”

“Ahh, Rongrong must be jealous of Little Sweet Cake…” Dross laughed then turned to look at Mu Chongyan, “But this master sure is ruthless. Just because your lover is jealous, you stuffed Little Sweet Cake back into the spatial button?”

“I-I wasn’t…Little Sweet Cake he…” Bai Rong’s eyes grew wide. He wanted to say something but couldn’t find his voice, his little face turned red and he glared at Mu Chongyan in anger.

“Little Sweet Cake…is doing fine. He’s playing happily inside the spatial button.” Mu Chongyan rubbed his nose, “Rongrong had just given Little Sweet Cake a catalog of new crystal glass cases, the ones that come with a pool. We’ll be going out later to buy it for him…”

“Wow, that’s definitely not going to be cheap. Rongrong sure dotes on Little Sweet Cake too….” Dross exclaimed in exaggeration, shooting his little brother a smile, the meaning in his eyes profound.

Seeing his brother shoot him a look that said ‘I know my little brother must be stuck in a pickle’, Mu Chongyan couldn’t help but heave a sigh on the inside.

Can his brother stop letting his thoughts run wild…

Xia Qingshu, who saw everything, silently watched them, a helpless mirth visible in his eyes.

Even though they were family, he understood that his Dearie had his own ways of handling matters. Rongrong having shrunken was too unimaginable so having only a few of them know, was enough.

As for Luo Ersi, he….probably wouldn’t tell him for the time being as well.

Seeing his wife suddenly look at him with an ‘ambiguous’ gaze, Luo Ersi immediately wore a warm and excited smile, an invisible tail wagging happily behind his back, “Qingshu, what is it?”

Xia Qingshu: “…..It’s nothing.”

Nevermind, it was enough for him alone to know about it.

After discussing the two most important matters, the first complete family meeting they had ended.

“Brother, you don’t have to send us off.” When Mu Chongyan left the hall, he looked at Dross who was following from behind and said helplessly, “Don’t follow us.”

Dross coughed, feeling a little sour that his brother only wanted to flirt with his wife, forgetting that he had specially taken leave to spend time with him.

Seeing through his brother’s thoughts, Mu Chongyan felt even more awkward. His Little Sweet Cake hadn’t gotten a ‘normal person’s view’ of Sheng Ya so he naturally had to take care of his own wife first.

After contemplating for a moment, Mu Chongyan urged, “Brother, it must not have been easy for you to ask for leave. Why not prepare a surprise for the person you like? Maybe you’ll be able to take them home quicker.”

“?!” Dross’s eyes quickly shone at the idea. That’s true! How did he not think of this?!

“Then…brother, I’m not going to bother you and Rongrong anymore. Have a great time. Also, you haven’t put on makeup. Make sure to put some before you head out.”

Seeing Dross walk off quickly, the corner of Mu Chongyan’s lips hooked up. He was about to take out the makeup tools to help Little Sweet Cake put on a disguise but found that he had run off to a shrubbery in the garden.

“Rongrong?” Mu Chongyan walked over, “What’s wrong?”

Bai Rong didn’t say anything and excitedly pushed away the greenery. He crouched down and picked up something, holding it excitedly beside his face and smiling at Mu Chongyan, “Chongyan, look!”

Mu Chongyan lowered his head and only saw a purple spatial button lay in Bai Rong’s fair palm.

“This is..the spatial button I bought in the auction in the past?”

“Yeah!” Bai Rong nodded excitedly. This was the very first spatial button Mu Chongyan had bought for him which he dropped during the fight with Mu Fenglan. He had been feeling distressed for losing it all this time and didn’t think he would stumble upon it here.

Happily browsing the contents of the spatial button, Bai Rong pulled Mu Chongyan’s hand.

“Chongyan, let’s go. I want to take out the contents for a look.”

“Alright.” Mu Chongyan smiled while pinching Bai Rong’s face. He took an aircraft in the spatial button his father gifted him and boarded it together with Bai Rong, shutting the door.

In truth, he still had a lot of money left in his light computer account but seeing that his father genuinely wanted to give him something, he couldn’t pretend to refuse his kind intentions.

Upon boarding the aircraft, Bai Rong took out the contents of the spatial button and laid them on a seat.

His previous research uniform, long johns, candy wrappers, light computer, a couple of S Level and SS Level spell cards, a miniature spell card detector, a set of spell card making machines as well as some spell card materials were all sitting there. He had a few too many spell card materials and seeing that they were all in good condition, he placed them back.

Bai Rong held his research uniform and long johns with longing, feeling his heart sour a little. These were the last memories he had from Hua Xia.

After carefully putting the clothes back into his spatial button, Bai Rong then wore the optical computer on his wrist, and put away the unusable spell card machines and sets back.

Sigh, how was he able to use such pocket-sized gadgets back then? It was really unthinkable.

After putting back most of his stuff, the only thing remaining was 10 spell cards. Bai Rong held them in his hand and flipped them for a look.

Most of them were S Class Basic Spell Cards or Intermediate Spell Cards while the rest were SS Level Basic Spell Cards.

But in the middle of flipping through the cards, Bai Rong was shocked.

Why was this scrap card here?!

Flipping the scrap card, Bai Rong finally remembered that when he was struck by inspiration, he had changed a certain stroke in the rune text of the spell card, thereby creating this scrap card– the Thunder Ball Card.

Looking at the thunder ball card, Bai Rong chuckled to himself. At that time, he was only 10 centimeters tall and had been at Sheng Ya for a month. But now, he had a wife he was engaged to.

Bai Rong let out a sigh, feeling sorrow well up in his heart. However, it was only through the passage and forging of time that he had now become the bold and powerful man he was today.

Manly man Bai Rong rubbed his chin, feeling as if a stubble had grown.

Seeing Bai Rong’s expression and actions in the rearview mirror, Mu Chongyan nearly couldn’t hold back his laughter, his lips threatening to hook up.

“Rongrong, what are you doing?”

“Huh?” Bai Rong immediately stopped rubbing his chin and responded, “Nothing much. I was just looking at the spell cards I made back then. I found a scrap card I made long ago.”

“Scrap card?” A hint of surprise flashed through Mu Chongyan’s eyes. He had never believed that his Rongrong could actually make a scrap card.

“Rongrong, let me take a look.”

“Ok.” Bai Rong handed the Thunder Ball Card to Mu Chongyan with a little embarrassment.

After all, this was his only stain in the entirety of his card-making history.

Mu Chongyan looked at the black spell card mixed with an incomparably pure color of purple and an indistinguishable light flashed across his eyes.

It was the first time he had seen a multi-colored spell card.

Seeing Mu Chongyan inspect the card carefully, Bai Rong said, “Originally, it was supposed to emit a purple light but nothing came out. I feel like it’s been stuck inside the card.”

“Stuck inside the card?” An odd conjecture formed in Mu Chongyan’s heart, “Has Rongrong gotten this spell card appraised at the Spell Card Center?”

“No, why?” Bai Rong felt a little confused. In truth, he hadn’t even used his Spell Card Detector on it too.

“The Spell Card Center has a special detector which can figure out what problem there is with the card. Since Rongrong doesn’t know why this spell card is odd, why not have it appraised there? Who knows, they might find something.”

I think this is a bit of a plot hole, as far as I can remember, the scrap card was made by RongRong in the virtual city, but here they are clearly in the real world, the author probably forgot about this fact, plus, this is a little bit of a spoiler for the next part I guess, don’t spell cards explode when you fail on making it in the real world that’s why it’s extremely dangerous? But during the next parts, the cards that RongRong deliberately failed doesn’t explode, unless if he successfully made them but only made them at lower levels but this doesn’t seem to be the case. Well, I’ll just swing with it because it’s still a good read.

Unfortunately, I’ve been waiting for this plot hole for quite a while. It was predictable a long time ago, I just didn’t expect it to be this… obvious and shameless. However, to my understanding, cards don’t always explode when they fail. Usually they just don’t activate, and are ruined. Otherwise, with a low ‘success’ rate for all the other card makers that exist according to the story, they’d all have been blown to death a long time ago. I guess it’s kind of like fireworks. Most of the time, if something goes wrong, they just fizzle out and don’t go off. But every so often, something goes wrong and they explode violently in your hand.

Actually, this isn’t the first time this plot hole has cropped up. Previously, Mu Chongyan had gotten virtual cards from Bai Rong, and it later referenced him in the ‘real world’ saving one of the cards to practice with later.
