Chapter 156

Extra: Little Hatchling Transformation! Part 3

Shen Changze woke up quite early, feeling the weight of Shan Ming’s arm pressing on him. After waking up, he struggled to crawl out from under that heavy arm. He touched Shan Ming’s face and said, “Dad, wake up.” He was hungry.

Shan Ming turned around and ignored him.

Shen Changze climbed onto Shan Ming and forcefully patted his face. “Dad, get up.”

Feeling a bit impatient, Shan Ming pushed Shen Changze aside with a careless shove. There was a loud thud, and Shan Ming was startled awake, and immediately sat up. He turned around and realized that the little hatchling was no longer on the bed.

He quickly crawled to the other end of the bed and saw his son sprawled on the floor in an awkward position. He hastily lifted Shen Changze up, whose little hatchling nose got reddened from the impact, and he looked at Shan Ming with a resentful gaze.

Shan Ming laughed and said, “I was half asleep… It’s alright, you won’t break.”

“Did you do this on purpose? “Shen Changze said quietly.

The threat that came out of the little hatchling’s mouth sounded as cute and amusing as a child saying, “I’m not playing with you anymore.” Shan Ming found it so entertaining that he couldn’t stop laughing. “Alright then, let’s see when you’ll turn back. But before you do, let me have some fun.” Shan Ming quickly jumped off the bed and returned from the living room with a DSLR camera. “Here, let me take some photos of you. I don’t have any pictures of you from when you were little.”

Shen Changze unhappily used the blanket to cover himself. “Dad, I want to put on clothes.”

“Put on what clothes? Didn’t you used to want to get naked whenever you saw me?” Shan Ming pulled the blanket aside while revealing an evil grin. “Today, I’ll take a few nude photos of you and hang them on the wall as decorations.” Then he pounced on Shen Changze and started snapping pictures. Through the telephoto lens, the soft scales of the little hatchling shimmered with a faint golden light. Its delicate wings fluttered weakly, and its tail pounded the mattress in embarrassment and frustration. In its crimson eyes, there was a hint of sorrow. Shan Ming had a great time, capturing every detail of Shen Changze’s bare-bottom baby pics with his camera. In the end, the exhausted little hatchling collapsed on the bed, too tired to move, but still casting occasional side glances at Shan Ming.

Shan Ming playfully squeezed the little hatchling’s chubby little butt. The more he looks at this thing, the happier he became. It was too much fun, much more fun than the grown-up Shen Changze.

Shen Changze said with a frustrated tone, “I’m hungry. Can you get me something to eat?”

Shan Ming chuckled and lifted him up, saying, “Let’s go, I’ll take you out for a meal.”

“How can I go out like this.”

Shan Ming rummaged through the wardrobe and pulled out one of his own shirts. He put it on the little hatchling, but after putting it on, he realized that although the shirt covered its hands, feet, and wings, it couldn’t hide its dragon horns or crimson pupils. Shan Ming rubbed his chin and looked at Shen Changze for a while. “How about this? Let’s go to the mall first. I’ll buy you some clothes, and you can wait for me in the car.”

So he carried the little hatching and went out. They arrived at a nearby mall, and after parking the car, Shan Ming went inside by himself. The place they lived in was outside the Sixth Ring Road, so it was a small area with few people. However, it had everything they needed.

Shan Ming first went to the children’s clothing section to buy clothes and hats for Shen Changze. The salesperson asked about the child’s size, and Shan Ming gestured, comparing it to his own arm. “Two years old, about this big.”

He bought seven or eight sets of clothes in one go, along with three pairs of shoes, two hats, and a small pair of sunglasses. As he walked back with the items, he noticed an elderly man leaning against his car, peering through the narrow gap of the window which he had left for Shen Changze to breathe. The man was muttering something and even stomping his feet in frustration.

Shan Ming hurriedly approached the man and grabbed his shoulder, “What’re you doing?”

The elderly man slapped the car door and exclaimed angrily, “How can you be such an irresponsible father! Leaving such a young child alone in the car and running out yourself. What if something happened? How can you be such an irresponsible father!”

“I was only gone for a little over twenty minutes. What could possibly happen?” Shan Ming said while pulling the elderly man aside. He anxiously glanced inside the car, where Shen Changze had wrapped himself up in the shirt, only revealing his little face, not even daring to open his eyes.

“What could happen? It’s so hot outside, what if he suffocates? What if he gets overheated? What if he needs to pee? What if someone smashes the window and takes him away? Where’s the child’s mother? Do you even know how to take care of a child?”

“It’s none of your business whether I know to take care of a child or not. I’ve returned now, so you can leave.”

The elderly man pointed at him with frustration, “Why is such an irresponsible person like you a father. Young people nowadays… can’t even be responsible parents but still end up having children. Jesus…” He stormed off, casting several angry glances back at Shan Ming.

Shan Ming felt frustrated and bewildered by the unexpected scolding. He opened the car door and sat inside. Shen Changze turned his head, his crimson eyes filled with mischief. He glanced at Shan Ming with a smirk, seemingly deriving pleasure from his misfortune.

Shan Ming patted him on his bare bottom. “Stop laughing. If someone actually took you away, it would be their eight lifetimes of bad luck.”

Shen Changze pouted, “Being taken away by you isn’t anything lucky either.”

Shan Ming took off the shirt on Shen Changze’s body and dressed him in the children’s clothing. The size chosen by the salesperson fit perfectly, except for the oversight when buying shoes, as he forgot to consider the little hatchling’s claws. The shoes were a bit tight, but it didn’t matter since Shan Ming would be carrying him anyway. In the end, Shen Changze was dressed from head to toe, with his wings pressed tightly against his back and his tail tucked into his pants. His dragon horns were covered by a hat, and his eyes were shielded by small sunglasses. As long as he tucked his claws into the sleeves, exposing only his rosy little face, he was hardly distinguishable from an ordinary human child.

Shan Ming asked him, “What do you wanna eat?”

Shen Changze looked around. This small town, with its combination of urban and rural elements, didn’t have many good restaurants. So he said, “Anything will do.”

Shan Ming pointed at KFC and said, “How about this? They have kids’ meals, and there’s a play place for you.”

Shen Changze used his small claws to grab Shan Ming’s arm and gritted his teeth, saying, “I’m not a kid.”

Shan Ming laughed and asked, “Then what would you like to eat?”

“Find a place with private rooms. These clothes are really uncomfortable,” Shen Changze said, moving his wings, feeling quite uncomfortable being restricted by the clothes.

Shan Ming finally found a Hunan cuisine restaurant and asked for a private room. After the dishes were served, Shan Ming locked the door to the room. Immediately, Shen Changze kicked off his shoes and removed his hat and clothes. He climbed onto Shan Ming’s body and vigorously flapped his wings while swaying his tail. It seemed like he had been holding it in for a long time.

Shan Ming grabbed Shen Changze’s tail, which was swatting his face, and said, “Stop moving around. You said you were hungry, so hurry up and eat.” He placed the little hatching directly on the dining table and leisurely fed him bite by bite. He narrowed his eyes, enjoying this relaxed moment as if he were caring for a pet.

Every time Shan Ming watched the little hatchling struggle to open its small mouth and closed its eyes to swallow the food he had brought to its lips, he felt an indescribable tingle in his heart. It was incredibly fun. How could something so fun exist in the world?

After a while, the little hatchling finished eating and patted its belly, letting out a satisfied burp. “Dad, aren’t you going to eat?”

Shan Ming glanced at Shen Changze with satisfaction, and then started eating. The little hatchling sat beside him, using its small claws to peel shrimp shells and carefully placing them one by one into Shan Ming’s bowl.

Shan Ming set down his chopsticks, smiling warmly as he gently rubbed the little hatchling’s face. “Good boy. I’m full now.”

The little hatchling’s eyes sparkled, and unable to resist, it leaned closer and wrapped its arms around Shan Ming’s neck, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Shan Ming held the little hatchling in his arms. That sweet, soft warmth melted his heart. He chuckled and said, “If you stay like this forever, it’s not bad either.”

Shen Changze said gloomily, “Don’t joke around, I don’t want to be like this forever.” He wanted to take care of his dad instead of being taken care of. He felt more miserable about his current helpless state every passing day.

“Any news from Tang Tingzhi?”

“He told me to wait for a few days, and he will contact me then. He seemed quite confident, so I believe he can make me recover.”

“It’s best if it works out, otherwise, won’t you have to start all over again? By the time you grow up, I’ll be all old.”

Shen Changze gently touched Shan Ming’s face and said earnestly, “Even if you’re old, I still want you.” The tender voice of the child carried an undeniable sense of determination.

Shan Ming grinned and couldn’t resist planting a loud kiss on the little hatchling’s cheek, saying, “Even if you never grow up, I still want you too.”

Shen Changze held Shan Ming tightly, smiling as he buried his head in Shan Ming’s neck.

Shan Ming patted his butt and said, “Alright, let’s go home.”
