He sat down beside her, and cupped her face with both hands. He stared at her foolishly, “I finally managed to get to this day – I’ve been waiting for over a dozen years for this moment.” Then he lowered his head and kissed her. “You are still my wife!”

Liu Xu’er smiled, “And you are still my husband.”

Shi Cheng was gently moving her face left and right and scrutinising her, “Your hairstyle looks gorgeous; it gives you a different look.” Then he looked at her face, his voice warming, “You are still my wife, no matter how I look at you, you are so beautiful…..”

There was a little hitch in his voice as he spoke. Then he kissed her on the lips again before finally helping her remove the pins in her hair. But even after all the hair pins, hair crown, pearls and flowers were removed, the hair that had been hidden for half a day didn’t tumble down as expected, like a waterfall, drifting about her like a fairytale….

She turned to call for Shi Cheng when she realised that at some unknown time, Shi Cheng had made his way in. He was leaning against the door, arms crossed, smiling at her.

It was only then that Shi Cheng grinned and came over leisurely, sneaking a kiss before touching something somewhere, causing water to start pouring from the tap. 

Shi Cheng however, kept a firm hold on her. He lowered his head and smiled, “Baby, shall we have a bath together?”

“I just wanted to wash my hair….” Liu Xu’er covered her mouth and smiled. 

Shi Cheng blinked innocently, “Even so, you still have to remove your clothes right? Otherwise, it’s not convenient… Come, let me help you…” He said and reached his hands out to her outfit. Under the window were two half grown boys. They were both covering their mouths, resisting the urge to laugh. There wasn’t a sound coming from the room at all, so who knew what they were laughing about. Shi Cheng rolled his eyes before directly shouting at them, “Hey! What are the two of you doing here?”

Both of them were shocked! They had just raised their heads when a basin of water whooshed over them!

Shi Cheng watched as those two boys beat it, before finally closing up the window and putting down the basin. 

Their bedroom was very private – the bed was against the wall. A few steps away from the bed was a floor to ceiling curtain, and beyond that was another door. There were no windows; the windows were beyond the curtain. And on top of the curtain was a canopy – they would put it down when they slept at night. 

So even if the window was open, they wouldn’t have been able to see anything. Furthermore, the window itself was made of glass, and not easily opened from the outside. 

Shi Cheng was very vigilant about his privacy. 

When he returned to the bed, he pushed past the canopy and saw Liu Xu’er staring, wide eyed, at him. When she saw him, she immediately asked, “What… were they doing?”

Shi Cheng nodded his head and said, “Probably trying to eavesdrop on us. From the looks, it seems that it was the Xing family’s youngest son and someone else. I chased them away with a basin of water.”

Liu Xu’er was stunned, “Xing Rongrong’s didi?”
