Married to the Male Lead’s Hidden Rich Brother

Chapter 30

Zhou Qiaoqiao and Yan Wei was in a serious relationship. He treated her well, and she treated him well too. They were going to be husband and wife for the rest of their lives, so it was not strange for them to sleep on the same bed.

Zhou Qiaoqiao convinced herself and tightly held the pillow in her hand, saying softly, “I have a bad sleeping posture.”

Yan Wei turned around and smiled at her, saying, “It’s okay, I have a good sleeping posture.”

As Zhou Qiaoqiao had said, Yan Wei didn’t make any moves. He lay beside her, and the two of them chatted like old friends for a long time.

Yan Wei fell asleep first, listening to Zhou Qiaoqiao talking about many things in a chattering voice. She talked about catching shrimp in the river in the countryside and climbing trees to find bird eggs with the teacher’s son.

Yan Wei listened to Zhou Qiaoqiao’s gentle voice narrating these rural anecdotes, as if those scenes were unfolding before his eyesā€¦

A world of green mountains and clear waters, lush trees, and winding paths through the woods. The children in the village laughed and played, running ahead and chasing each other behind.

There was a little girl with withered, yellowed hair due to malnutrition, wearing an old and whitened pink dress. Her worn-out plastic sandals already had gaps. She struggled to keep up with the other children, sweat dripping down her face, but she was also full of joy.

Unfortunately, he encountered Zhou Qiaoqiao, who specialized in killing the mood. Zhou Qiaoqiao had a serious expression on her face. “Yan Wei!”

“Hmm?”

“You poked me.” 1 morning wood ( Ķ”~ ĶœŹ– Ķ”Ā° )

Yan Wei: “ā€¦”

Well, this was just a little incident. In countless mornings to come, it would become one of their pleasures.

After getting up, Zhou Qiaoqiao went to the pot to cook porridge.

Yan Wei got dressed, and Zhou Qiaoqiao went to freshen up. Then, Zhou Qiaoqiao picked up her small wallet from the entrance and turned back to ask Yan Wei, “What do you want to eat?”

“Just the same as you,” Yan Wei always responded this way. Anything that was the same as Zhou Qiaoqiao’s choice, he could eat and it would taste especially delicious.

“Alright,” Zhou Qiaoqiao replied and went out.

Later, Zhou Qiaoqiao came back with two packs of pickled vegetables and two meat buns. Well, even though Yan Wei wasn’t interested in these, eating them together with Zhou Qiaoqiao made them really delicious.

After finishing their meal, Zhou Qiaoqiao took out her phone and said to Yan Wei, “Let’s look for a house!”

The two of them snuggled on the couch and browsed through house listings. With each page Zhou Qiaoqiao opened, she would say, “This toilet is dirty, this room won’t do, this one is good, but it’s too stuffy without a single window, this one is too expensive, oh my, this one is the size of just one bed? Oh dear, this one is so dim, do we have to keep the lights on from morning till night? This one is really nice, but it’s too cheap.”

Yan Wei: “!!!” He felt as if he had just heard something earth-shattering and looked at Zhou Qiaoqiao incredulously, saying, “You find it too cheap?”

Zhou Qiaoqiao laughed and said, “You don’t understand. On these websites, the photos look great, but it’s only 500 yuan per month. Can you believe it?”

Yan Wei remained silent, and Zhou Qiaoqiao continued, “It’s a pyramid scheme. They don’t leave a phone number, only a WeChat ID, and they only let women add them. It’s definitely a pyramid scheme to recruit customers.”

This was the first time Yan Wei had heard of it, and he found it quite interesting.

Yan Wei asked her, “What kind of job did you find?”

Zhou Qiaoqiao smiled and said, “Supermarket accounting. Their accountant is working until the end of this month.”

Yan Wei nodded. They looked at a few houses in the morning, so naturally, they would go to see houses in the afternoon.

After seeing the actual houses, it was Yan Wei’s turn to be dissatisfied.

“No, it’s too small.”

“No, it’s too small.”

“No, it’s too small.”

ā€¦

Amidst Yan Wei’s continuous “it’s too small,” Zhou Qiaoqiao finally couldn’t take it anymore and asked him, “How big do you want it to be?”

Advertisements

Yan Wei pondered for a moment and said, “At least as big as the one we’re living in now!”

“Yan Wei, a house of that size and standard in Yiwu City would cost at least 2400.”

Yan Wei pondered once againā€¦

The house-hunting went on like this for two days, and one day Yan Wei suddenly said to Zhou Qiaoqiao, “Qiaoqiao, I found a job that provides accommodation.”

Zhou Qiaoqiao widened her eyes. She had never been able to find a job with accommodation.

“What kind of job is it?”

Yan Wei thought for a moment and said, “Something like finding projects, I guess?” 2 he owns an investing firm

Zhou Qiaoqiao didn’t understand why he ended the sentence with a question mark, but she didn’t mind. After roughly understanding, she asked him again, “Where is the house?”

Yan Wei pursed his lips and said, “It’s in the Song’an City area.”

Zhou Qiaoqiao was taken aback, but then she smiled and said, “Isn’t that close to where I work?”

Seeing the joy in her expression, Yan Wei couldn’t help but feel happy himself and said, “Really? That’s great.”

Now that the house was decided, they naturally had to prepare for the move. After all, Zhou Qiaoqiao was going to start work in two days, and it would be convenient to move closer to her workplace.

So, that evening, Zhou Qiaoqiao started packing her things. Living alone and having just moved in recently, she didn’t have a lot of belongings.

The next day, Yan Wei was still asleep when he suddenly felt a heavy object dropping from the sky and landing on him like a large rock. Yan Wei felt a dull pain and almost passed out.

The heavy object on him shouted loudly, “Yan Wei, Yan Wei, wake up! We’re moving today!”

Yan Wei exhaled and felt himself coming back to life. He opened his eyes and looked at Zhou Qiaoqiao sitting on him, gritting his teeth, he said, “Do you know that the gravitational force when you jump is several times your own body weight?”

Zhou Qiaoqiao shook her head and then asked him, “But it was enough to wake you up, right?”

Yan Wei closed his eyes again and said, “Even a heavier weight would be enough to put me to eternal sleep.”

Zhou Qiaoqiao: “ā€¦”

After lying down for a while, Yan Wei said, “How long are you going to sit there?”

Zhou Qiaoqiao: “ā€¦”

After listening to Yan Wei’s complaint, she obediently got up.

Yan Wei sat up and looked at Zhou Qiaoqiao kneeling in front of him. Her obedient appearance amused him, and he said, “Get up, let’s move!”

“Okay,” Zhou Qiaoqiao nodded heavily.

Yan Wei got up, and his pajamas were a bit wrinkled. Unlike his expensive pajamas that don’t wrinkle no matter what, these pajamas felt a bit stuffy to wear. However, it didn’t affect his sleep. Yan Wei chuckled, probably because he had Zhou Qiaoqiao by his side!

He had never slept so well before, or rather, he had never lived like this in so many years, living just like a normal personā€¦

Before moving, the two of them had another argument. Zhou Qiaoqiao believed that they could move some things today, then come back and move again to get everything done. Why waste money on hiring a moving company? What? I have money, brother! Do you know what 600,000 means in today’s society? Especially in a place like Iwu City, it’s not even enough for a down payment!

However, Yan Wei thought only a crazy person would go back and forth to move their belongings. Since it was a move, there are moving companies in the world, so why do it themselves? It’s foolish not to spend money. Besides, it’s not easy to move from here to Yiwu City. They have to take a transfer train. They must call a car.

After debating whether to call a car or not for half an hour over the course of two days, Zhen Guoan was summoned.

He parked a Rolls-Royce Cullinan outside the residential area and watched Yan Wei and Zhou Qiao Qiao each dragging a large bag of luggage over. He had a smile on his face and mmp 3 an abbreviation of a Chinese curse word in his heart.

Deep down he thought, “Damn, why is he calling for help with moving so early in the morning? Who the hell receives a call asking for help moving right after waking up?” So don’t blame him for being angry and depressed in the morning.

“Big brother, you’re not worth hundreds of millions. You have billions coming in and out every year. Can’t you afford to call a car for moving?” Zhen Guoan couldn’t help but curse, “I slept at 3 o’clock yesterday!”

“I called you, didn’t I?” Yan Wei’s voice was very cold.

Zhen Guoan pleaded, “Brother, call a moving company! They can handle it within a day, and they’ll clean up everything for you, leaving your new home spotless. You should hire them!”

“I’m the penniless Yan Wei now. I’ve been kicked out of the house,” Yan Wei reminded him coldly.

“No, even if you were kicked out, you wouldn’t leave with nothing, right? Just tell your sister-in-law that it’s your previous savings. Didn’t you buy a house in Song’an City? How are you going to explain that to your sister-in-law?” Zhen Guoan didn’t understand. Who gets kicked out of the house and really has nothing? Do you think this is ancient times where the emperor exterminates nine generations? It’s a clean break.

Upon hearing this, Yan Wei sighed, “Ah, Guoan, you’re really foolishā€¦”

Zhen Guoan: “???”

“If I had that kind of money, Qiaoqiao would have kicked me out long ago, and I would have found my own place to live.” How could he still have a place in the family?

Zhen Guoan: “!!!” Tsk tsk, so it turns out that his sister-in-law is this type of noble woman ?

“Oh, by the way, when you come, bring a bigger car, not the Phantom. It can’t fit the luggage,” Yan Wei knew that Zhen Guoan liked the Phantom and often drove it around for a few laps when he had nothing to do, but the Phantom was a bit small.

Zhen Guoan: “ā€¦”

And then, Zhen Guoan went to the garage and found an off-road vehicle, naturally choosing the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Zhou Qiaoqiao came out with her luggage and saw Zhen Guoan still feeling embarrassed. She said, “I’m sorry! I told him we could take two trips, but he insisted that you’re available now.”

What could Zhen Guoan say? Of course, he could only put on a smiling face and say, “Yeah! My company is off for the next two days. It would be tiring for you to take two trips. My SUV has plenty of space, it can definitely fit everything.”

Zhou Qiaoqiao looked at his car and said, “Okay.”

So, that car indeed managed to fit all of Zhou Qiaoqiao’s luggage, but it got filled up in an instant, leaving no space for anyone to sit.

Zhen Guoan chuckled and said, “Oops! No space to sit, let’s take public transportation!”

However, Zhou Qiaoqiao was still very happy. They could easily move without having to carry any luggage, just by taking a bus! At that moment, Zhou Qiaoqiao had no idea that the car helping her with the luggage was worth nearly millions. Just a scratch on the car would be more expensive than all of Zhou Qiaoqiao’s pots and pans.

The 60 sqm apt in China is not really 60 sqm in living space. Because it will include the shared spaces in your floor. For example, my friend’s apt is 120 sqm, but his actual apt is only 90 plus sqm because he also paid for the shared spaces, I think that it also includes the hallway and elevator. But yeah, 18 sqm is the basic here in my country. It feels claustrophobic.

They include the corridors/hallways and elevator to the total area of a unit?! šŸ˜ØšŸ˜ØšŸ˜Ø For whatever reason? That’d be public property, shouldn’t it?

And that note about a scratch on Cullinan… šŸ„² Lol, it would cost tens if not hundreds times more expensive than the moving company’s service. šŸ˜…šŸ„²šŸ˜…šŸ„²

That’s how I feel. What do you mean the shared spaces are something you also have to pay for? Where I am, a public area is a public area, and it isn’t factored into the size of your personal apartment/space. If you had say a 640 sq. ft. apartment, it would be the size of the apartment itself, not including external hallways or elevators and probably also not including a patio or balcony if you had one. You normally only pay for the apartment, amenities, bills, etc. as well, and normally only the size of your apartment itself is calculated for the space of your apartment… so strange. Some other things would be amenities you’d pay for access to like a reserved parking space, storage, garage, gym, pools, etc, but would not be considered as part of the apartment/space you rented itself.
