After Rebirth, I was Entangled by a Second Generation Rich Guy Again

Chapter 105 Extra: After Marriage 01

Wen Guoan really wanted to have grandchildren. Granddaughters were fine too, all the same to him.

In his younger years, he was carefree and didn’t settle down until middle age. He regretted not letting his parents see the birth of Wen Yu and left with that regret. Now, he was quite afraid that this karmic debt would come back to him.

When you are young, you are fearless. When you are old, you are afraid of this and that.

When Ji Anning married Wen Yu during the summer break of their sophomore year, becoming the daughter-in-law of the Wen family, Wen Guoan began quietly contemplating this matter.

In their first year of marriage, he didn’t bring it up. After all, he wanted to give the young couple their own time.

By the end of Ji Anning’s junior year, after a full year of marriage, Wen Guoan began to feel restless and eager to try.

He first brought Wen Yu aside to discuss the matter, acting old and pitiful, saying, “You can’t let me end up like your grandfather, dying with unfulfilled wishes.”

Wen Yu: “…” Wasn’t that a predicament of your own making?

Wen Yu was fully on Ji Anning’s side. However, Ji Anning understood him well. With a single glance or tone, she could tell when he wasn’t being sincere.

Blinking, she asked, “Do you want to have a baby too?”

Caught off guard, Wen Yu looked a bit embarrassed. “Well, a little, I guess.”

Ji Anning was surprised. “I thought you wouldn’t want this so soon.”

Wen Yu, at twenty-two, was still in his senior year of college, having married early. Even someone like Li He, an older guy, lived a carefree life with several girlfriends changing within a year. Unexpectedly, Wen Yu, the youngest, was the first to get married, catching everyone’s eyes.

However, Ji Anning didn’t expect Wen Yu to want a baby so soon. Early marriage was for love, but why did he want a child so soon? A man in his early twenties wanting a baby was quite rare.

Wen Yu fell silent.

After a long pause, he said, “My dad truly loves me.”

Yet, he wasn’t Wen Guoan’s biological son.

Ji Anning understood.

Wen Yu’s lack of biological relation with Wen Guoan wasn’t something that would weaken their bond. However, it became a regret in Wen Yu’s heart and made him feel indebted to Wen Guoan.

“Another thing is,” he continued, “the dream I had, where my dad… you know.”

What Wen Yu dreamt about was essentially Ji Anning’s experience from their past life. In that life, Wen Guoan passed away due to a cerebral hemorrhage during his detention.

Although the outcomes were different in this life, Wen Yu still had lingering fear and anxiety, especially considering Wen Guoan’s advanced age. According to Wen Yu’s wishes, they should conduct comprehensive check-ups every month, but Wen Guoan refused.

After much argument, they compromised on quarterly check-ups.

Wen Yu had always feared that the dream scenario might suddenly manifest in reality. He was afraid that Wen Guoan would pass away without seeing his grandchildren, just as he feared. However, he was also in a dilemma.

Wen Guoan was aging, and Wen Yu worried that the dream scenario might occur. However, Ji Anning was only twenty-one, just finishing her third year of college, and still a student.

According to Wen Yu’s understanding, a girl of her age, even if married, was unlikely to want a child. Given Ji Anning’s painful past in the previous life, Wen Yu felt sorry for her and hesitated to force her into a difficult situation.

Unexpectedly, Ji Anning tilted her head and nodded after a few seconds of contemplation, “Then let’s have a baby.”

Caught in a dilemma, a distressed Wen Yu murmured, “…”

Seeing Wen Yu in a contemplative state, Ji Anning pursed her lips and smiled, “Let’s have a baby.”

“No, Anning, don’t do it for me…” Wen Yu held Ji Anning’s hand tenderly, expressing his concern.

“It’s not entirely for you.” Ji Anning reciprocated the handhold, gently asking, “Haven’t you noticed? You, me, and Dad, we three share a common point.”

Wen Yu was puzzled, “What common point?”

Ji Anning lowered her gaze, clasping Wen Yu’s hand with both of hers and softly running her fingers along his, saying, “The three of us, we all lack blood relatives.”

Wen Yu’s hand suddenly tightened around Ji Anning’s.

Ji Anning had a biological father who left early, fate unknown. Wen Yu had a biological father, a half-brother, and several half-siblings. However, he had never met these half-siblings, and both his biological father and half-brother were serving time in prison, effectively considered dead in Wen Yu’s mind.

As for Wen Guoan, his parents had passed away decades ago, and Wen Yu wasn’t his biological son. He truly had no blood relatives.

“Let’s have a baby,” Ji Anning affirmed.

To give birth to a child bearing their blood, adorned with the surname of Wen Guoan.

In this way, these three individuals with no blood ties found solace in each other’s company, creating a bond beyond genetics.

In this household, it wasn’t just Wen Guoan who wanted a child.

They all needed it, and they all desired it.

Wen Yu shared this matter with Wen Guoan, saying, “Anning has one request; she doesn’t want to be a stay-at-home mom. She still wants to go out and work.”

“No problem, no problem!” Wen Guoan exclaimed, “She can go to any company she likes. If there’s none she fancies, we’ll start a new one!”

“Calm down, calm down,” Wen Yu gently patted his father’s chest with his hand, resembling a concerned mother.

“You old nag!” Wen Guoan swatted away his hand, laughing, “Always making me feel like I’m about to kick the bucket.”

Dream-related matters couldn’t be revealed to Wen Guoan, leaving Wen Yu tongue-tied.

Ji Anning shared the baby-making plan with Meng Xinyu.

Meng Xinyu’s mouth remained agape for a while before sighing, “Your life feels like a completely different dimension from ours.”

She then asked, “Are you really sure about this?”

Ji Anning nodded and said, “Actually, when I just got married, Auntie Li from the canteen advised me not to have a child too early.”

“Who’s that?”

“The one at window number seven, the plump one.”

“Oh, her!”

Ji Anning nodded and continued, “I’m quite close to her. After returning to school last year, I gave her some wedding candies. She told me not to have a child too early, at least until I’ve thought it through thoroughly.”

Meng Xinyu was surprised, “There’s such advice? Aren’t most aunties crazy about urging marriage and childbirth?”

Shu Chen’s mother was precisely the type who pressured for marriage and childbirth. Fortunately, the second-dimensional otaku was completely unaffected. He told Meng Xinyu, “Ignore her; she will never understand our way of life.”

Meng Xinyu finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Ji Anning chuckled, “Auntie Li is a very nice person. She said having a child significantly impacts work, and one must consider when it’s suitable to have one, whether there’s someone to help, and the necessity of a house and savings.”

Meng Xinyu realized, “These things… don’t seem to be an issue for you at all!”

In reality, Auntie Li in the cafeteria disapproved of Ji Anning marrying so early. Having spent years at the school, she had witnessed many breakups after graduation. She knew that a young person needed to be battered by society for a few years after graduation to truly mature.

Auntie Li didn’t know about Ji Anning and Wen Yu’s connection through different lives and deaths, birth, and death. She was concerned seeing Ji Anning getting married in her sophomore year, as the young couple seemed too young to her.

Auntie Li’s advice was correct for ordinary people, but it didn’t apply to Ji Anning’s situation. Little did she know that Ji Anning had married into a wealthy family. All the factors she listed as considerations when having a child were not concerns in the Wen family.

Ji Anning decided to have a child not only because of her emotional desires but also due to the support of these hardware conditions.

Wen Yu was in the prime of his physiological life, and Ji Anning was healthy. After they stopped contraception, Ji Anning became pregnant with just one attempt.

When Ji Anning began to show slight symptoms of nausea and loss of appetite, the school had already started. As soon as she felt any reaction, she had an idea, and upon checking, she confirmed her pregnancy.

When Wen Yu was sharing this news with Wen Guoan, he was extremely cautious. Ji Anning watched as Wen Yu circled around the topic, discussing things like “Mount Tai collapsing without changing color” and the importance of preserving one’s energy with Wen Guoan.

“…?” Wen Guoan said, “What are you trying to say?”

Helplessly, Wen Yu replied, “Anning is pregnant.”

Wen Guoan’s excitement was unstoppable.

“Great, great! Anning, come with me to the study!” The old man suddenly realized and changed his mind, “No, no! Don’t move, Wen Yu. You go to my study, there’s a blue folder on the right side of the drawer, bring it down!”

When Wen Guoan promised Ji Anning one hundred million, he wasn’t making empty promises. He had even adjusted Ji Anning’s asset structure, providing cash, real estate, and stocks, carefully arranged for her. Ji Anning suddenly became a wealthy woman.

But both Wen Guoan and Wen Yu were a bit nervous. Seeing Ji Anning’s poor appetite and occasional bouts of nausea, they wanted her to take a break from her studies and focus on having the baby.

However, Ji Anning disagreed, saying, “Among my senior sisters who are pursuing master’s and Ph.D. degrees, some have attended classes while pregnant. If others can do it, so can I.”

She knew her own body and felt she wouldn’t encounter major issues. Yet, the intensity of morning sickness was challenging. Ji Anning took a two-week leave during the most difficult period. When the time was up, and her morning sickness had improved, she enthusiastically returned to school.

Wen Yu drives her to school everyday. He also arranged a dedicated driver if he couldn’t manage it himself.

Ji Anning continues to go to school sporting a baby bump, and at noon, a dedicated person delivered her pregnancy meals to the cafeteria, becoming a unique sight on the campus.

They both moved from Wen Yu’s place back to the Wen family mansion.

With an elderly auntie at home who insisted she could handle raising another child despite her age, and most importantly, a team of chefs who prepared diverse pregnancy meals for Ji Anning every day, the once-empty mansion suddenly became vibrant.

Wen Guoan’s complexion improved significantly, and his vitality was restored.

Their return to the mansion breathed new life into the previously desolate place.

As the classmates busied themselves with job hunting in April of the following year, Ji Anning successfully delivered the baby.

Sansukini: For me, it’s better to have a baby early than to have it at an old age. Given, Ji Anning is 21 here, which is too young, imo. But having people who can help you take care of your baby is a big factor because you can still do what you need to do to grow personally.

Also my tots, it’s better to have a baby early, AS LONG AS you have what it takes to raise it. Late pregnancies are scary, so many uncertainties… My aunt was pregnant at the age of 39, she was sent to the er because the baby refuse to come out and my aunt is losing strenght… The baby was CS but was a healthy baby…

    Thank you for the chapter!!

I agree. Not too young though. If you have the means to raise a child, then it’s okay to get pregnant early. It also means that your elders are still strong enough to help you take care of the baby

Some people are lucky. Personally, I didn’t have any symptoms of pregnancy with both my children. I was only very sleepy, no vomiting, didn’t feel sour, I can eat anything except there are some food I suddenly like to eat.

For most case, 21 is way too young for me. I think 25-26 is the right age. But for Anning who already lived twice, shes already mature. She’s ready mentally, physically and have endless support around her
