Watch You Turn Naughty

Chapter 32: It’s Him

Yao Yao was prepared to go and greet the directors and CEOs who were already present. Even though she came from a prestigious family and ran the company well, she was only 28 years old. As the youngest president in the industry, she naturally had to be more forward-leaning.

Most of the men present were in their forties or fifties. Fortunately, because of her identity, this bunch of wily old foxes didn’t dare to do anything to her. However, those who were secretly staring and observing her made her very uncomfortable all over, let alone those who deliberately held her hand for a long time, or put their arms around her shoulders.

Yao Yao was already used to it.

Even so, she would still take a long shower and scrub herself clean every time she got home after these gatherings.

While Yao Yao was chatting, she saw a figure from the corner of her eye.

That figure seemed very familiar, but she couldn’t be sure who it was.

“President Yao, what are you thinking about?” The other party handed her another glass of champagne, and she had no choice but to take it.

“I’m thinking about your company’s annual report this year. It’s truly impressive…” Yao Yao smiled politely and quickly changed the topic.

However, she could hear him walking onto the stage, step after step, and eventually standing in front of the microphone.

The man’s gaze then swept across the entire venue indifferently, before it finally locked on Yao Yao’s figure.

He held the microphone with his well-defined hand and his thin lips parted slightly.

“My name is Huo Konghe,” he said slowly.

Time seemed to rewind at the speed of light before Yao Yao’s eyes, all the way till the night when they first met. Someone had asked for his name in Room 507 of B1.

He had said, “My name is Huo Konghe.”

His voice was deep yet cool, like a stream that melted hundreds of rivers in spring. He started to talk about his graduation from Caltech and his entrepreneurial philosophy. However, Yao Yao couldn’t absorb a single word, as she felt that the stream seemed to have flowed into her mind.

She looked at the man standing on the stage. His hair was combed neatly, and the corners seemed to be more defined, highlighting his well-proportioned and exquisite features. There was an aura between his sharp eyebrows that couldn’t be ignored. He was wearing a tailored grey and navy suit, and his long legs and narrow waist vividly reflected the words “walking hormones”.

How was this a f*cking golden retriever? This was a wolf!

Yao Yao couldn’t calm down, regardless of how she tried. Her mind was still blank, and she remained frozen in place, as she had been in the past ten minutes. There was no movement from her at all.

Even after Huo Konghe walked off the stage, Yao Yao still couldn’t react.

She wondered if she had drunk too much and was hallucinating.

Then, the “illusion” sat on the empty seat to her left.

Yao Yao wanted to slap herself instantly to see if she had lost her mind.

“Yao Yao.” The illusion called her name in a low voice.

Yao Yao’s head froze, and she didn’t dare to look sideways.

“Yao Yao.” The illusion called out to her again.

Yao Yao muttered silently to herself, “This is an illusion, an illusion, an illusion…”

“Yao Yao.” The illusion called her once more, this time in a helpless and intimate tone.

“President Yao, you’re next.” Her assistant leaned forward and reminded her softly.

“Alright.” Yao Yao felt that she had finally returned to reality. She immediately got up and followed her assistant in preparation for her speech.

From the beginning to the end, she didn’t dare to look to the left.

Yao Yao composed herself and thought about what she wanted to say. Then, she straightened her back, pulled back her shoulders, and walked up the stage, holding her dress as she walked up.

It was only towards the end of her speech that she finally dared to look in the direction of her seat.

Huo Konghe crossed his hands naturally in front of him, his left leg crossed over his right, as he looked at her calmly.

“…Thank you, everyone. I hope you can have a good night.” Yao Yao quickly ended her speech and left the stage, heading backstage as quickly as she could, to the point where she gradually picked up her dress and ran off.

“President Yao, where are you going…” Her assistant panted and realised that she couldn’t outrun Yao Yao, even though the latter was in high heels.

Huo Konghe rushed over quickly and asked Yao Yao’s assistant, “Where is she?”

The assistant didn’t understand what was going on, but simply pointed in the direction where Yao Yao disappeared in a daze.

Huo Konghe hastily chased after her.

The assistant stood rooted to the ground for a while before realising that the man who had asked her the question was the man who had shocked the audience with his attractive looks just moments ago!

During his speech, she even stole a look at President Yao’s expression, and noticed that she was also stunned.

Could these two people be…?

Yao Yao didn’t know where she should go, so she simply ran to the courtyard at the back.

The temperature at the end of January was extremely cold, to the point that it penetrated the bones. Yao Yao felt that the stream in her mind was already frozen.

She squatted on the ground and hugged her bare shoulders with both hands, wanting to sober up using the wind.

Someone suddenly put on a warm and wide coat behind her.

A scent that she hadn’t smelled for a long time entered Yao Yao’s nose just like that. Yao Yao took two more breaths greedily.

It was really him.

Huo Konghe.

At this moment, Yao Yao couldn’t tell if she wanted to see him or not. Her mind was in a mess, and she simply buried her head between her legs.

Huo Konghe knelt down in front of her and said gently, “Yao Yao, look at me, alright?”

Yao Yao shook her head.

“Yao Yao.” Huo Konghe reached out and touched her long hair.

Yao Yao felt a lump in her throat and she looked up from her arm, which was turning even more pale from being frozen by the chilling temperature.

Huo Konghe was stunned and raised his hand to wipe the cold tears on her face.

Yao Yao only realised that she was crying when she saw the sparkle in his palm.

In an instant, the grievances and sorrow hidden in Yao Yao’s heart seemed to have been dug out. She broke down and sobbed.

Thinking that it wasn’t a good idea for the two of them to be outside so late at night, Huo Konghe stood up and carried her into his arms.

“You… What are you doing?” Yao Yao sniffled and forgot to struggle for a moment. Tears were still flowing from the corners of her eyes.

This was the first thing Yao Yao said to him. Huo Konghe’s heart trembled and he looked down at Yao Yao’s red eyes and the tip of her nose.

“I’ll do it.”* Huo Konghe lowered his head and pressed his warm cheek against Yao Yao’s cold forehead.

* TL Note: Yao Yao had asked Huo Konghe “你干嘛”, meaning “What are you doing”, but Huo Konghe replied “我干”, likely a teasing reply to his own interpretation to her question as “Will you do it?” And since this is a smut novel, I’ll add in the point that “干” is also a slang for f*cking, so… it could also mean an open invitation to s*x and he’s replying to that… I’ll leave that to your imagination ;p
