I’ll Share The Bed With You.

Chapter 17: The Heated Kiss

The restroom of the five-star hotel was spacious and bright, with a faint scent of lemon freshener lingering in the air.

If it weren’t for the familiar figure of Shang Jie, Jiang Xingxing would have thought he’d lost his mind—he’d actually walked straight into the women’s restroom! If someone saw him, wouldn’t his reputation be ruined?

However, the man standing in front of her was indeed Shang Jie, the same carefree and reckless playboy from the past. So, it wasn’t surprising—Young Master Shang was capable of doing anything outrageous.

He gripped her hand tightly, pressing her against the wall of the cubicle.

The cold touch of the white tiles seeped through her thin clothing, transmitting a chill to her delicate skin, in stark contrast to Shang Jie’s hot body.

The light above cast his deep eyes into shadow. He leaned closer to her, slightly tilting his head, his nose brushing the skin of her neck. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

Jiang Xingxing shivered slightly, tickled by the heat of his breath.

“Mr. Shang,” she whispered, her voice barely audible, “is it really you?”

“You mean the doctor… he couldn’t rescue your brother?”

The word “rescue” seemed off, so Jiang Xingxing thought for a moment and rephrased, “You’ve been here all along?”

“The night I was caught, Lawrence used hypnosis to wake up my brother,” Shang Jie buried his face into her neck, grinning. “But damn, I missed you too much.”

The next morning, when he woke up on that deep blue bed, he couldn’t believe it. Everything around him was so familiar—the spacious and minimalist bedroom, the panoramic view of the river outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. This was the primary personality’s room, everything arranged to his preferences.

But he… was still himself!

He had once again succeeded in suppressing the primary personality!

To avoid Lawrence attempting to “treat” him again, he thought for a moment and decided to disguise himself as the primary personality. He attended the press conferences, held board meetings, and even resisted the urge to immediately find her…

Everything was going smoothly. No one around him had noticed the manic soul hidden beneath his cold and noble exterior.

Jiang Xingxing listened intently to Shang Jie’s words, anxious not to miss a single detail. Her attention warmed and satisfied him.

Shang Jie lowered his gaze, studying her. Today, her makeup was bold, and her crimson lips were especially seductive.

He placed the half-burnt cigarette in her mouth, and Jiang Xingxing skillfully held it between her lips, taking a slight drag before he took it back.

Her lipstick had stained the cigarette, and with desire, he placed it in his own mouth.

He always enjoyed playing this kind of game, as if a cigarette marked by her lips tasted better.

Taking a deep breath of the minty tobacco, smoke swirled around him, filling the air with a familiar scent. Jiang Xingxing closed her eyes, breathing in, savoring the feeling of being enveloped by him.

It was only then that she realized just how much she had missed him.

Unconsciously, her nose brushed against his face. This small gesture stirred something within Shang Jie. He softly asked, “You missed me too, didn’t you?”

“I… maybe a little.”

Her personality was reserved. Even if she missed him a lot, she would only admit to a little.

“A little is enough.” He cupped her face, his fingers lowering slightly before lifting her chin, forcing her to look at him.

“You’re the only woman in this world who cares about me,” he said in a deep, rich voice, his gaze full of affection. “Now, I’m going to kiss you, baby.”

Before she could react, he took her lips in a deep, forceful kiss.

It wasn’t a gentle peck or a tentative kiss—it wasn’t even a regular kiss. He wanted to devour her completely!

His tongue forcefully pried open her lips and teeth, invading her mouth, capturing her soft tongue, entangling it with his.

Jiang Xingxing’s eyes shot wide open, stunned. She couldn’t believe that her first kiss was being taken by this man. Like a frenzied conqueror, he was sweeping through her entire world without restraint.

As if savoring a delicious feast, he swallowed her whole, one large kiss at a time. His hand pressed against the back of her head, forcing her to meet his every move.

Then, the laughter of a few girls came from outside the restroom.

Jiang Xingxing hurriedly pushed him away…

Shang Jie finally moved back, looking down at her with a smile. Her face was smeared with lipstick, and Shang Jie wasn’t much better—his lips were stained with her crimson lip color. He stuck out his tongue, licking it playfully.

“Who’s smoking in the restroom?”

“No idea. Jiang Xingxing went to the bathroom and hasn’t come back. Is she in there?”

“Xingxing, are you in there?”

Jiang Xingxing held her breath, terrified that her friends would notice something was wrong.

Her heart pounded wildly, as if it were about to leap out of her chest. It wasn’t because she feared being caught with a man in the cramped restroom, but because she was afraid his disguise would be exposed, afraid that he might never come back.

With their bodies pressed together, Shang Jie could clearly hear her heartbeat.

Like two people engaged in a secret affair, both tense yet exhilarated.

He smiled and leaned in again, capturing her lips once more. This time, he propped a hand against the wall, enclosing her in his arms, savoring her gently, as if tasting something delicious.

Jiang Xingxing closed her eyes and slowly opened her mouth, surrendering to his tender kiss.

In this gentle kiss, she could feel the affection and care this man had for her.

Shang Jie, as if addicted, kissed her while grinning mischievously, until the restroom was silent once more.

“You’re so sweet,” he said, appraising her. “So sweet, I don’t want to leave. Let’s think about what we’ve missed these past two months.”

Jiang Xingxing’s hands clutched tightly to the corner of his white shirt, crumpling the once pristine fabric.

She looked away. “I’m just not used to life without you yet. That doesn’t mean I like you.”

“Saying that now, don’t you think you’re acting like someone who uses and discards others?” Shang Jie didn’t seem angry, still smiling.

Jiang Xingxing’s mind echoed with Ming Jin’s warning: “You can love anyone, but never this man.”

Not only did a vast chasm of class separate them, but he couldn’t even control his own body. He could leave at any moment, or disappear forever.

If you fall in love with him, you’re doomed.

“Mr. Shang, let’s end this,” Jiang Xingxing said, looking into his uncertain eyes. “Or maybe… we should just forget about it?”

As long as she knew he was okay, she could rest easy. From now on, they could live their own lives, never crossing paths again.

“Let it go?” Shang Jie let out a faint, cold laugh. “Women can be so ruthless when they decide to be. It’s like being cut with a knife, each word a stab, and every stab deadly.”

Jiang Xingxing felt a sharp pain in her heart and lowered her gaze.

Shang Jie caressed her face, pressing his forehead against hers, their ears and cheeks brushing together. “But I can’t bear to let you go. What should I do?”

“Mr. Shang, what is it that you want from me?” Her voice was soft and pleading, but it made the man in front of her feel like his head was about to explode.

“Be my girlfriend.”

This was the first time he had pursued something with such determination. Right now, he desired nothing else, only her—he wanted both her body and her heart.

“Mr. Shang…” Jiang Xingxing looked up at him. “What do you like about me? Why are you so good to me?”

What did he like about her? Shang Jie didn’t answer. Instead, he brushed aside the hair near her temple, his fingers gently grazing the scar on her forehead, a complex expression in his eyes.

Suddenly, he leaned in and kissed it.

“Being good to you is nothing. I’d give you my damn life if you wanted it.”

After the wrap-up party, Director Gu Ye took notice of a few extras and kept their numbers, but he didn’t ask for Jiang Xingxing’s.

Jiang Xingxing knew her limits. The female lead in “City of Daylight”, Bai Qingqing, was supposed to be the most beautiful woman in 1930s Shanghai. Originally an innocent female university student, her family was massacred overnight by a warlord, and she embarked on a path of revenge, becoming a spy feared by all. She lived on the edge between light and darkness, with no one knowing her true identity.

Jiang Xingxing was aware that her appearance didn’t meet the director’s standards. She could probably play more ordinary roles, but to portray such an exceptionally beautiful woman? The scar on her forehead would be ironic and could easily become a major flaw in the show.

So, she wasn’t too disappointed when the director didn’t choose her.

Today’s greatest surprise was meeting Shang Jie again and learning that he was still around. Nothing could be more exhilarating.

After washing up and lying in bed, she absentmindedly touched her soft lips, recalling the sensation of his kiss earlier that day.

A current of electricity surged through her body.

A man like that—who wouldn’t be mesmerized by him? Kissing him was like an addiction, and Jiang Xingxing was already fantasizing about the next time.

Wait! She patted her face. What was she thinking? Don’t expect too much. A man like him is beyond your reach.

While she was caught in an internal struggle, a group chat with the other extras suddenly became lively, with messages popping up one after another—

“I just saw Song Xiaoxiao go into Director Gu Ye’s hotel!”

“Really? Are you sure?”

“I saw it with my own eyes. She was wearing heavy makeup and dressed very revealingly. It’s pretty obvious, right? She’s trying to seduce the director to get the lead role?”

“Gross. But Qiaoqiao, why were you outside Director Gu Ye’s hotel?”

There was a long pause before Qiaoqiao replied, “Well… I just happened to pass by.”

The group went silent for a while, with everyone lost in their own thoughts, and no one spoke further.

Of course, Jiang Xingxing didn’t believe this girl named Qiaoqiao just “happened to pass by.” She probably had the same intentions as Song Xiaoxiao but was beaten to it.

They’re all the same.

After a while, Qiaoqiao broke the silence again, asking, “So, are you all just going to let Song Xiaoxiao steal the opportunity?”

The other girls said, “What else can we do? Song Xiaoxiao has already gone in. Are you going to barge in and catch her in the act?”

Qiaoqiao replied, “You guys are too timid. No wonder you’ve been stuck as low-tier extras for so long. @Jiang Xingxing, what do you think?”

Jiang Xingxing was suddenly mentioned, so she typed a response and sent it:

“It has nothing to do with me. Director Gu didn’t even take my number, so there’s no chance for me.”

Qiaoqiao said, “Well, Song Xiaoxiao hadn’t even met Director Gu before, and now she’s in his bed. Opportunities are something you have to fight for. If you don’t, you can’t blame others.”

One of the other girls asked, “So, do you have a plan?”

Qiaoqiao responded, “Let’s go big—let’s call the Anti-Pornography and Anti-illegal Affairs Office. @Jiang Xingxing, report them to the anti-vice office!”

Jiang Xingxing thought to herself, why was she being dragged into this? Did they want to use her as a pawn? Everyone knew the influence Director Gu Ye had in the industry. If she offended him, she could forget about having a career.

Jiang Xingxing replied, “I think it’s a good idea. I support Qiaoqiao reporting them in her own name, to fight for everyone’s opportunities. 😊”

Qiaoqiao laughed awkwardly. “Well… since you’re not going to be in Director Gu’s movie, I meant you should do it. After all, it won’t affect you. Right, everyone?”

But “everyone” didn’t chime in.

Jiang Xingxing ignored the group chat, took a hot shower, and prepared for bed.

Before sleeping, she glanced at the group chat again. Qiaoqiao had sent a few more messages:

“Latest update, Song Xiaoxiao was kicked out of Director Gu’s room!”

“Qiaoqiao, have you been watching them the whole time?”

“No way, I just happen to be staying at the same hotel and saw it.”

“Why did she get kicked out?”

“She was inside for less than ten minutes before being thrown out. Director Gu told her not to come back. He said he’s not that kind of person—I heard it with my own ears.”

“Well, that’s embarrassing.”

Qiaoqiao added, “Yeah, these women who try to climb the ladder using shady methods are disgusting!”

Jiang Xingxing scoffed to herself. She wasn’t interested in standing on a moral high ground to criticize Song Xiaoxiao. At least Song was fighting for herself. As for people like Qiaoqiao, they clearly wanted to do the same but got beaten to the punch. They were bitter and did nothing, then mocked others when they failed. Those were the types of people she despised the most.

Jiang Xingxing muted the group chat. The filming was done, and she had no interest in staying involved with them any further.

She turned off the lights, ready to sleep, but just then, a video call notification rang—it was from Shang Jie.

Her heart skipped a beat. After hesitating for a moment, she answered.

“Mr. Shang.”

On the screen, Shang Jie was wearing loose, dark-colored cotton pajamas. He looked different from his usual well-groomed, suited self—he seemed more down-to-earth, like an ordinary person.

In the video, the girl only showed her large eyes, surrounded by darkness. Shang Jie asked, “Are you asleep?”

“Just about to. Is there something you need?”

“You’ve never seen my house. I’ll show you.”

After saying that, Shang Jie picked up his phone and panned it around his home.

Jiang Xingxing curiously observed his room. Even just the bedroom was at least 100 square meters, with a minimalist design in neutral tones. The furniture was all white, giving it a modern feel. The floor-to-ceiling curtains were voice-activated, and beyond them, you could see the flowing river, offering an expansive view.

“There’s a garden in the backyard,” Shang Jie said as he walked out of the room with his phone. “You can nap on the tatami inside. It’s surrounded by greenery, and the air is rich in oxygen.”

Sure enough, in the northeastern corner of the backyard, there was a glass house covering about 70 or 80 square meters, filled with lush green plants. It looked like a miniature botanical garden, with a white tatami mat in the center, kept clean by a dedicated caretaker.

This was pure luxury!

After virtually touring Shang Jie’s villa, Jiang Xingxing looked up at her small, cramped apartment, barely a few dozen square meters—it felt like a rat’s nest in comparison.

She sighed. The inequality between people really was stark. Some people are born into a life of luxury, while others are destined to have nothing.

Jiang Xingxing asked, “Mr. Shang, why are you showing me your house in the middle of the night?”

Shang Jie turned the camera back to himself, saying with a serious expression, “Oh, I’m using my wealth to tempt you.”

Jiang Xingxing: …

Sansukini: I really like the second personality. Reminder though, the primary ML is the first personality. He will start prudish but will gradually be more carefree.
The way Shang Jie is tempting her…

  1. I love reading or watching drama with DID. We can see how the split personality actually is inner desire or unrestrained personality of the first persona. Or sometimes their defense mechanism or twisted personality that they tried to hid. Only if they are romance henre though. Do I think this story will be fun seeing how the first persona going berserk trying to keep up with 2nd persona.
