Chapter 121 Let’s help each other out

In truth, the people of Ke Te were not at all unprepared. Upon obtaining news that Weng Na’s entire army was not only annihilated but that Laixite was also killed, the first action they took was to transfer several hundred thousands of mech warriors into Ke Te star region. Among them, 120,000 warriors had arrived at Planet Pu Ya.

However, what they couldn’t imagine was how powerful Mu Chongyan had become. Mu Chongyan first led the wolf elites into Pu Ya, then asked Du Han to send him an accurate map of Pu Ya’s City Center and the location of Ke Te’s commander-in-chief and garrison. Following which he ordered his wolf soldiers to stand guard outside as he stealthily probed the enemy garrison and before the commander-in-chief could even react in time, his life had been taken.

Then, Mu Chongyan asked Du Han to get rid of all the locks in the commander-in-chief’s optical computer, using it to issue a command to the other soldiers, digging them a trap. He then sent a message to Xia Qingshu and Luther, conveying to them what to arrange.

Once the arrangement had been settled, Mu Chongyan stored the commander-in-chief’s corpse into his spatial button and sneakily went out. He led the warriors back to the airship and issued a command to all of them.

Bai Rong had been making spell cards all this while, his mental strength seemingly having gone through a change after the battle with the beast king. Now, after continuously making 20 SSS Level advanced spell cards, his head didn’t throb in pain. The other SSS Level Spell Card Masters could only make 6 to 7 cards a day with a success rate of not more than 30%. Even the greatest genius Grandmaster Ah Ke’er couldn’t make more than 7 to 8 cards in a day, his success rate about 50% which equaled 3-4 cards in a day.

Bai Rong felt that he could make 40 SSS Level advanced spell cards in a day with no problems.

However, his wife Mu Chongyan said that the cards he created did not belong to the scope of SSS Level. It had completely broken new grounds, entering a level known as SSSS Level or super advanced spell cards.

Sigh, his wife sure thought of him so gloriously and imposingly. This showed how much his wife loved him!

Sheng Ya’s troops grew braver in the war, their morale high. They quickly took back two of Pu Ya’s four important star regions and as for the other two, once Ke Te’s army obtained information that their troops in the other star regions were completely annihilated, they quickly retreated with their tails between their legs, returning back to Ke Te star region.

The military campaign was an overwhelming victory despite Pu Ya suffering great losses, their military strength dropping down to a sixth level star region. Mu Chongyan and Xia Qingshu went to Pu Ya palace as representatives of Sheng Ya and received a warm reception. The news that ‘Sheng Ya rescued Pu Ya’ quickly spread over Pu Ya and in 10 minutes, was also transmitted through the planets within the star region alliance.

Sheng Ya’s status and reputation instantly soared, not only winning the hearts of several citizens but also demonstrated their strength, showing off the demeanor of a big planet. This deterred several star regions who were having itchy hands. Upon learning this, the citizens of Sheng Ya felt very proud, the star network booming in searches.

Ke Te, on the other hand, was the exact opposite. The originally ninth level star region received a substantial blow, their level falling into a low eighth. Moreover, because they had initiated the war this time, their reputation had turned for the worse. Because it was a ninth level star region before, no planet dared to criticize it, now that its military strength had been greatly reduced, several eighth level star regions stood out and jointly accused Ke Te of violating the peace treaty, requesting them to pay reparations and kicking them out of the seat of a permanent council in the star region alliance.

Just when the gang was about to return to Sheng Ya, the star region alliance’s chairman arrived at Pu Ya. He first expressed sympathies to Pu Ya’s royal family before inviting Xia Qingshu and Mu Chongyan to come to the alliance, expressing that there have been several requests for Sheng Ya to replace Ke Te to sit at one of the five important permanent council member’s seats in the alliance.

In the past, three ninth level star regions and two of the strongest eight level star regions would occupy the position. Today, two of the three ninth level star regions were annihilated, leaving two seats free. According to logic, the remaining two eighth level star regions were supposed to take over, so how could a seventh level star region like Sheng Ya suddenly occupy it?

Xia Qingshu brought this up with the chairman who merely chuckled on the surface but was suffering on the side. How could he not know how the alliance had ignored Sheng Ya’s cry for help when they were being attacked by Weng Na?

One had to know that even though Sheng Ya was only a seventh level star region, their strength was on par to a ninth level star region’s. Xia Qingshu reasoned that they were unable to take up the post of council as Sheng Ya was only a seventh level star region, serving a slap to the alliance’s face.

No matter what the alliance chairman said, Xia Qingshu refuted them. In the end, he asked the alliance to discuss with Luo Ersi as he was going to take his son, son-in-law and soldiers back to the airship heading for Sheng Ya.

After returning to Sheng Ya, Bai Rong truly experienced what it felt like to ‘return home triumphantly’ and ‘receive the warm welcoming of the whole city’. Sheng Ya’s sixteen planets lit up the alarm line and the main planet lit up all the lights, appearing like bright stars. When their airship landed, the entire region started to sing Sheng Ya’s national anthem, each word sonorous, firm and passionate, revealing Sheng Ya’s honor, pride and spirit of never giving up and only looking ahead!

Bai Rong’s eyes grew hot. Realizing that this was not manly of him, he quickly wiped the corner of his eye but when he tilted his head, he saw that all the soldiers in the surroundings looked like they were about to cry….

“Let’s go, We’re going home.” Xia Qingshu hugged Mu Chongyan and gently ruffled Bai Rong’s hair. He turned around and swept a look at all the soldiers, hearing the sound of the airship doors opening slowly.

A passionate and sonorous song sounded in his ears, bright lights filling the background. Xia Qingshu looked at the figure standing not too far away, his eyes turning red as he looked at Luo Ersi. He raised his head and blinked, revealing a small smile at him.

Bai Rong watched his two father-in-laws embrace each other and his nose turned red, a sour, warm and sweet feeling arising in his heart. He raised his head and looked at Mu Chongyan, coincidentally finding that he was looking straight at him too.

Bai Rong was taken aback, a flush creeping up his face.

Mu Chongyan, however, held Bai Rong’s hand tightly and lowered his head, kissing him on the forehead. “Rongrong, let’s go home.”

“Ok.” Bai Rong looked up into Mu Chongyan’s eyes and saw deep affection and warmth. Sweetness gradually overwhelmed the faint sourness he felt a while ago, turning into a stream which washed it clean. The corner of his lips slowly hooked up, his cheeks revealing a sweet dimple as he said in a light and soft voice. “Yeah, let’s go home…”

Upon returning to the city center, the warriors were greeted with a celebration feast for a whole day, the entire city enveloped in great merriment. During the banquet, Luo Ersi noted down the admirals and warriors for meritorious service, handing out rewards. The most eye-catching one was naturally Mu Chongyan’s.

Mu Chongyan had infiltrated the enemy camps alone twice, completely overturning the tides of the war and was deservedly bestowed a super SSS Level meritorious service. After all, if Mu Chongyan had not been there, Sheng Ya wouldn’t have destroyed Weng Na’s army and ended the war. Mu Chongyan not only saved the lives of millions of soldiers who could’ve died in the war, he also saved Sheng Ya!

Mu Chongyan was immediately promoted to the seat of admiral. He was an admiral who was worthy of receiving the respect of the thousand million citizens of Sheng Ya, the youngest admiral in all of the star region alliance, an admiral who was only 21 years of age!

The other person who had made a big contribution was Bai Rong. The SSS Level spell cards Bai Rong made had saved Sheng Suo and He La in their first battle, beating the enemy helplessly. Otherwise, these two planets wouldn’t have been able to counter attack and hold the fort until Mu Chongyan infiltrated the enemy camps. Moreover, the reason why Mu Chongyan’s battle prowess had reached such a terrifying degree was that aside from his SSSS Level strength, he had Bai Rong’s SSSS Level spell cards in his arsenal. As such, the combination of the two made it all the more frightening. He could face against a sea of advanced level mech warriors, chopping human heads as easily as chopping green vegetables and tofu.

Apart from this, Bai Rong even created a new type of spell text, changing the traditional spell cards and bringing Sheng Ya’s spell cards to a new generation—an unquestionable generation that stood at the peak! And so, Bai Rong was also noted for super SSS meritorious service, however, Bai Rong had no intention of joining the military or desiring a rank. Otherwise, Mu Chongyan’s record of being the youngest to be promoted to admiral would’ve been beaten by his own wife.

Bai Rong wanted a seat in the spell card department, the kind that had a lot of freedom, because his goal was to earn a lot of money to raise his wife. Moreover, becoming a high-ranking officer in the military was too pitiful, it would definitely be very stringent and tiring and he wouldn’t have much time to earn money.

Of course, the most important was that he felt as though he didn’t deserve to be a high ranking military officer. He liked to be straightforward in his speech and didn’t have the brain cell to arrange military strategies.

That was his wife’s expertise!

The cadre of generals who were shot down in silence: “….”

After the banquet had ended, Mu Chongyan and Bai Rong returned to the western rear hall of the palace, respectively taking a relaxing bath.

Meanwhile, Mu Chongyan mulled over the possibility of bathing together with his Little Sweet Cake, but the moment he imagined this happening, he nearly couldn’t restrain himself and so, he begrudgingly dropped the thought. He went to another bathroom and took a shower, rubbing his hair.

After Bai Rong took a bath with his treasure cubs, he walked back to his bedroom wrapped in only a towel. When he reached the bedside, his face suddenly turned red, recalling the incident that happened in his bedroom the last time after he took a bath…

Bai Rong looked at the center of the bed with reddening cheeks, his dark eyes wet. The expression on his face was solemn yet bashful, firm yet conflicted and in the end, steam arose from the top of his head.

Ahhhhh, his wife said they would continue that matter on their return..should he…take the initiative to resume it!

If not, he had already agreed and violating a promise as a tough man isn’t good, but if he did take the initiative, it would be very embarrassing ahhhhh!

He stood in place, embroiled in inner conflict, his head continuously letting out steam. In the end, Bai Rong decided to be a man who would carry out his promises and take the initiative to attack, wrapping the towel tightly around himself and turning to run in the direction of Mu Chongyan’s room.

This time…he had ample preparation. The towel wouldn’t slip off of him just like the last time….

On the other side, Mu Chongyan had just finished showering and was wiping down his body, wearing a brown bathrobe as he stepped out of the bathroom. He heard a sound of running footsteps outside his room and quickly pushed the door open, seeing the fresh-faced Little Sweet Cake pretending to walk towards him. The tips of his hair were still dripping wet, his fair cheeks pink. A trail of water dripped down his slender neck, kissing his exquisite collar bones and slowly traveling to the inside of his towel…

Mu Chongyan’s throat turned dry and the look in his eyes darkened.

“Rongrong, why….did you come…?”

Advertisements

Bai Rong was a bit shy, twisting the towel with a red face. He secretly took a breath and recited the words ‘I am a tough man, I should bravely take the initiative and attack!’ three times and raised his head to look at Mu Chongyan, walking towards him.

“Rongrong….you….” Mu Chongyan looked at Bai Rong, who walked towards him covered in only a towel, and his nose started to tingle. A numb warm current coursed through his body, particularly at his lower abdomen, a certain guy stirring recklessly.

“…..Didn’t Chongyan say before….” Bai Rong’s face was steaming hot, his entire person tainted pink, making his fair collarbones and shoulders look good, an enticing scent wafting off of him. He raised his head to look at Mu Chongyan, his eyes glossy and his crow-like lashes quivering. He then took another step forward, to the extent that he was glued onto Mu Chongyan’s bare chest, his voice sweet and soft, “Didn’t Chongyan say before…that we’ll continue once we get back….?”

An explosion sounded in Mu Chongyan’s head, the blood in his body beginning to boil intensely. Bai Rong’s soft breathing hit his chest, like a feather tickling the tip of his heart, immediately rendering it numb. He looked at Bai Rong’s little flushed face, his gaze lingering on his captivating face and fair body. The heat building up in his lower body grew more rampant, a certain part standing stiff.

“Chong….ah!” Bai Rong wanted to say something more but was suddenly wrapped in a tight embrace. Mu Chongyan’s firm arms carried him to the bedroom. Bai Rong’s ears were stuck to Mu Chongyan’s shoulders, hearing his powerful heartbeat. It caused his heart to start beating quicker as well and because the places where Mu Chongyan was in contact with were hot, it felt as if a warm electrical current had turned his nerves numb.

Bai Rong’s whole body grew hot and tense, fear creeping into his heart…

“Chongyan…” Bai Rong looked at Mu Chongyan’s eyes that evidently turned dark and his aura that grew domineering and a hint of regret appeared in his heart. He couldn’t help but tug Mu Chongyan’s robe, his black eyes glittering as he spoke in a soft and small voice.

“Chongyan….I….I suddenly remembered that I still have something I need to do, let’s….help each other out next time….ok…..?”

Chapter 121 Let’s help each other out

Sigh, his wife sure thought of him so gloriously and imposingly. This showed how much his wife loved him!

After Bai Rong had finished creating six spell cards, it was time for Mu Chongyan’s plan to be put into action. He exhorted Bai Rong several times before pecking him on his forehead, taking with him the spell cards Bai Rong had made to go to battle with the other warriors.

Bai Rong originally wanted to go with him. After all, his strength was comparable to a SSS Level mech warrior, however, Mu Chongyan stopped him, saying that the base was just as important, and it required his protection, and so, he didn’t insist.

At the same time, Xia Qingshu and Luther led their armies and began taking action as well.

The battle this time lasted for a whole day. Ke Te’s army was far more formidable than Weng Na’s soldiers. Upon nearly falling into the trap, the soldiers did not slack off; instead, they hit back even harder.

If it wasn’t for the SSS Level barrier Mu Chongyan took from Laixite, adding on to the super defense card Bai Rong made, it would’ve been hard for him to guarantee coming out of this battle unscathed. After all, several SSS Level mechs were self-destructing at the side, the aggregation of energy combustion exceedingly terrifying.

However, this ‘hard to guarantee’ was, in the end, just an ‘if’ statement. Mu Chongyan quickly shuttled amidst the enemy soldiers, leading the explosion to head for the enemy. This not only made the enemy eat their own bitter fruit, it also easily allowed him to take the heads of the Ke Te’s high ranking admirals.

Although the process of this military campaign was much more gruesome, the duration long, it still ended in Sheng Ya’s victory!

After the war had concluded, Mu Chongyan contacted Xia Qingshu and Admiral Luther, learning that Xia Qingshu had finished dealing with his side but Admiral Luther was in a bit of a pickle. He immediately boarded the airship to go and support him. Bai Rong followed Mu Chongyan and made spell cards in the airship for the entirety of 30 hours, constantly using up his mental strength without sparing a second for rest.
