Chapter 6: The Call

Elder Lu was over seventy years old, but he was still clever and strong. He was the elder Li Jia most respected.

The reason Li Jia became the adopted daughter of the Lu family was because of Grandpa Lu.

His fierce, stern eyes stared straight at the car window, as if to pierce through the glass. He grabbed his cane and knocked on it to make his presence felt.

When Li Jia saw her grandfather, she jumped up with a startled yelp like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

Her face turned red and she tried her best to push Lu Yichen away, but Lu Yichen didn’t move at all.

Lu Yichen turned his head and saw the old man outside the car with a gloomy face, and his heart was filled with mixed feelings.

In his previous life, two months before JiaJia’s death, the old man was hospitalized because of a heart attack. No one in the family dared to tell him the news of JiaJia’s passing, but in the end, he didn’t know who leaked it, and when the old man found out, he had a heart attack on the spot and was not saved by resuscitation.

“Why don’t you hurry up and come out. How long do you want to hold on to Jiajia?” Grandpa Lu looked coldly and knocked on the window with a thud. Seeing his grandson’s intimate gesture towards Jiajia, there was a hint of surprise in the old man’s eyes.

He knew his grandson was the best at manipulating people’s hearts, and especially good at fooling young girls with a gentle, handsome and beautiful face.

Lu Yichen didn’t like Jiajia. Such a big change in attitude after a trip abroad?

Playing with other women’s feelings, he didn’t have the heart to care, but deliberately seducing his sister, he wasn’t so polite!

“Don’t you want to come down yet!”

“Grandpa.” Lu Yichen let Li Jia out of the car and greeted the old man with a smile.

Li Jia assisted Grandpa Lu, her red face unable to fade for a short time when it touched the scorching air outside the car.

The old man caught a precise glimpse of the mark on her neck and frowned as he swept a glance at the perfectly gentle Lu Yichen.

He was dressed in a white shirt and tie, his body was straight and slender. His cool, soft, handsome face was tinged with a surge of unabated emotion. His thin lips were damp and red, so he knew what he had done.

The old man grunted heavily and instructed JiaJia. “Did you meet a pervert on the road? Don’t be polite when you see this kind of person, beat him up so that he cries out, and next time he won’t dare to cheat on a little girl’s feelings.”

“Yes.” Li Jia’s mouth twitched. “JiaJia knows.”

She took her grandfather’s arm and hurried to stay away from her brother. She had a hunch that he was not normal after he came back, and she wondered if he was not well adapted to the environment?

Lu Yichen smiled indifferently, he was back. Everything was not too late.

JiaJia did not seem to love him as much as she did three years later, but that was okay, he can take his time.

When Li Jia helped Grandpa Lu out of sight, Lu Yichen’s mobile phone vibrated again.

Not many people knew his number, so he glanced at the screen, his cold gaze narrowing slightly, and pressed the answer button.

A sweet, soft, baby voice came through the receiver. “Yichen, are you off the plane yet? I missed you so much.”

“I miss you too.” Lu Yichen’s lips hooked up, his tone was as warm as jade as usual, even with a rich tenderness.

Only, his pitch-black eyes were cold and indifferent, revealing a cold, brutal intent.

A soft giggle came from the other end of the phone. “Yichen, our school just ended, so many people are going home. I can’t even get a taxi nearby, so crowded ……”

Lu Yichen sneered in his heart. Xia Yuxuan complained about how troublesome it was for her to get a taxi because there were too many people around the school during the holidays.

From beginning to end, Lu Yichen listened patiently, and he talked to her from time to time. He asked her to pay attention to her safety, but he didn’t say he was going to pick her up.

In his previous life, he had just got off the plane and received a call from Xia Yuxuan on the way home.

The words were the same as now, and when he listened to them now, he felt very ridiculous.

But because of this ridiculous complaint, he kicked Jiajia out of the car alone, halfway on the way home, and went to pick up Xia Yuxuan in the school without hesitation.

In his previous life, he loved Xia Yuxuan so much that he didn’t hear the slightest problem, but now that he heard this round-about complaint again, he suddenly felt that his former self seemed like a fool.

Erm it’s actually not that ridiculous. His actions were ridiculous tho. Why not just fucking go with your sister or drop her off at home first? Kick her out in the middle of the road? Lock her in the car?How tf jiajia fell for him.
