Dying In The Male Lead’s Arms Every Time I Transmigrate

Chapter 71 I want to let her know

His tone sounded a bit inexplicable.

Ning Meng thought this and glanced at him secretly.

Thinking of the time she had lost her tooth and he comforted her by saying that he would give candy, her eyes lit up, “How about…I give you candy?”

She felt embarrassed by her own words.

It seemed that when she was possessing Ningning’s body before, she owed him a lot of candy, and she reckoned that Shi Qi must’ve forgotten it all.

She smirked mischievously, covering her mouth and remaining silent.

Hearing this, Shi Qi chuckled slightly, a glint flashed across his eyes, and he said in a relaxed tone, “Then you can owe that to me first.”

Ning Meng nodded without thinking much.

She looked at her bandaged hand. If it weren’t for the strength of her wrist, she wouldn’t have been able to hold anything at all now.

There was still a slight pain on her neck, and the smell of medicine floated to the tip of the nose, reminding her of what had happened at that time and making her feel lingering fear.

Just for hurting Meng Ning, she was treated like this.

What if she had dealt a more serious hand?

If she had gotten closer to Meng Ning, what would’ve happened to her?

She took a small step forward, her hair fluttered by the wind at the side of the door, covering half of her face.

Standing in front of the substitute teacher, she could only see the palm-sized half profile of the petite Meng Ning and in contrast, the tall and short heights of the pair complemented each other, appearing exceptionally harmonious.

She bit her lip and lowered her head to conceal the emotions manifesting on her face.

After Ning Meng had said her piece, she whispered, “I have to go to the hospital.”

Her teeth could not be fitted with dentures immediately, and speaking made wind blow through her mouth even if it wasn’t very obvious.

Seeing her pursing her mouth and not wanting people to see her teeth, Shi Qi’s mood improved inexplicably.

He quietly swept a glance across the academic building, and said warmly, “Ok.”

Ning Meng, “…”

Advertisements

What does this ‘ok’ mean?

She soon got to know, because Shi Qi sent her directly to the hospital.

“You’ll have to wait a little longer.” The female doctor said warmly.

One was not allowed to change their dental doctors. Whomever you visited for the first time meant that you always had to visit them in the future.

Ning Meng was very thankful that her attending doctor was a gentle young lady.

She opened her mouth, going off into a daze.

The door was suddenly pushed open from the outside, and a nurse walked in with a slightly excited voice, “Wow, is the handsome guy who’s settling the bill outside your patient?”

The doctor took off her gloves and said with a smile, “Nope. That’s this little lady’s boyfriend.”

As soon as her voice fell, Shi Qi opened the door and entered.

There was a slight pause in his footsteps, and his expression changed.

Ning Meng laid there, wanting to refute her, but with her mouth open, she could only make a gurgle of noises.

When one’s mouth was opened for a long time, it was best to be careful. Don’t ever drool, or else your face will be lost.

But being seen by Shi Qi like was also quite shameful.

Ning Meng flushed with anger.

The female doctor turned the light on, suddenly highlighting the red-faced person and her eyes revealed amusement, “Look, she’s being shy.”

The nurse next to her also chuckled, “You’re right.”

The two echoed after each other, speaking very happily.

Ning Meng: “…” You’re both very wrong.

She was angry.

It was only after a long time that she had left the hospital.

Ning Meng secretly put on a mask.

Since that day, she had bought a large bag of masks, and carried them with her. She also kept some in the dormitory just in case.

Otherwise, the gaps between her teeth would be exposed as soon as she spoke and she feared that it would scare people to death.

Shi Qi handed her phone back to her.

Ning Meng quickly took it and wanted to change his name, but upon recalling that the person himself was in front of her, she would definitely be exposed again if he questioned her, which wouldn’t be good.

It was better to go back first then change it.

She put the phone back in her pocket, her eyes almost curving into crescents. Her nose pushed out the mask, and it swelled as she breathed.

Shi Qi’s eyelids drooped slightly and he suddenly said, “I’m going to be away for a while.”

Ning Meng was taken aback, and asked in confusion, “Where are you going?”

After she asked, she was also amused by her own question. What did his whereabouts have to do with her? He didn’t need to tell her at all.

She felt a little too dependent on his abilities.

Whether it was Ningning or Meng Ning, she always felt that beside Shi Qi was the safest and most worry-free place.

Sometimes…such as the moment when Gu Nanqian had forced her to hide in the cleaner’s shed that night, she had to admit that Shi Qi’s figure flashed across her mind.

Seeing her suddenly turn silent, Shi Qi said, “I have a matter to attend to.”

Ning Meng remained silent and lowered her head slightly, revealing her smooth and white forehead. Her nose was pretty sharp, and her long eyelashes quivered lightly like crow feathers.

Shi Qi glanced over her face and lowered his voice unconsciously, “But it’ll have to wait until the school’s affairs have been dealt with.”

Ning Meng raised her head in surprise, “Is it the sick murderer incident?”

“Sick murderer?” Shi Qi repeated, suddenly chuckling lowly with a silky feeling to his tone, like a feather sweeping across the tip of her heart.

This feeling was very strange.

Ning Meng ignored it, and said, “The matter that happened at the swimming pool and the back mountain.”

According to the news gathered at present, the girl in the swimming pool has been completely drained of blood. The result given by the police was that the contents of the pool were indeed her blood.

And there was only one wound on her body, and that was on the back of her head.

Because of the significant impact of this incident, the police were going to announce some details at the request of parents and the community which included the results of the forensic autopsy,

The real cause of the girl’s death was drowning.

But the blood in the pool flowed out from the wound on the back of her head.

It was a bit preposterous to say that a small wound managed to soak the entire swimming pool. Although the school’s swimming pool was not very big, it was not too small. Even if there was water flowing, this was still very strange.

That was why there were many students asking for suspension of classes and letting them go home.

Since summer vacation had yet to start, it was impossible to suspend classes throughout the school even if lives were lost. This would delay the academic plans, so the school could only resort to strengthening management.

With the Internet being so developed, even if the school wanted to keep it down, there was nothing they could do, and so, the few pictures and videos relating to the incidents soon leaked out.

And if they were to blatantly suppress it, they might incite rebelliousness, so it was better to just let it go and deal with the rumors.

Because of that, this matter was very much discussed now.

Ning Meng swiped her phone on and logged into Weibo.

She put the screen in front of him and said, “Look.”

The first few hot searches were about C University’s swimming pool incident. She clicked into it, and there were nearly 30,000 comments on the first related Weibo.

“I suspect that someone in this school did it, otherwise, how could they understand the structure of the school so much?”

“It was done by a pervert alright. To be able to kill someone but still not end there and using such a cruel method, they must be a mentally sick and twisted pervert.”

“Currently, most colleges don’t care about the people who get in, and they rarely check their identities. It’s normal to be exploited by some unruly ones.”

“The incident at the back mountain was even more terrifying than this.”

There were also pictures attached, fortunately it was censored with a mosaic so the impact was not as strong.

Shi Qi pursed his lips and covered her phone, “I didn’t give this back to let you watch these kinds of news.”

Ning Meng smiled awkwardly and put her phone away.

The matter of the back mountain was indeed more serious.

Up until now, no information had been obtained, only the method of how she was buried alive and because the deceased had no enemies at all, the investigation had encountered a bottleneck.

She was called afterwards and interrogated again.

The police were afraid that both cases were going to become a headache.

Ning Meng walked towards the road in front of her.

Her afternoon schedule was still packed with classes and now that it was noon, she had to go back quickly as there was still a little distance from the school.

She walked in a hurry, not even noticing a small sedan car on the opposite side that ran through a red light and hit the grass fields of the hospital.

The system suddenly reminded her, “Quickly step back.”

Hearing this notice, Ning Meng stepped back subconsciously, reacting almost instantly, and fell back uncontrollably.

Suddenly, a pair of hands clasped her wrists.

Different from the coldness of her body, the sultry summer carried heat, but was not irritating, instead felt very comfortable.

Ning Meng stood firmly and restrained the urge to struggle.

Shi Qi pulled her back, his lips pressed into a line, appearing a little stiff, “Stay by my side.”

The car rushed out of the flower bed and in the end, got stuck beside it.

Ning Meng replied in confusion, her heart beating quickly. She suddenly raised her head and asked, “Then are you staying because of this?”

Shi Qi lowered his head slightly.

Ning Meng nodded, seemingly understanding.

In all likelihood, the school also found out that there was something wrong with these two incidents, and so, they asked for his help. After all, the Shi family secretly specialized in this business.

She also hoped to get to the bottom of it quickly, lest another death happened again.

After thinking about it, Ning Meng hemmed and hawed.

Shi Qi saw how she wanted to speak but stopped, and asked, “What do you want to say?”

Ning Meng turned her face slightly, “…It’s nothing.”

Shi Qi did not press her.

There were a lot of people coming and going at the entrance of the hospital, and there was heavy traffic not far away, the voices of pedestrians very noisy.

Ning Meng opened her mouth, “You must pay attention to safety…”

Her voice was like the hum of a mosquito.

Shi Qi suddenly leaned forward, almost coming eye-level with her, and asked in confusion, “What did you just say?”

With the distance between them being very close, even the sound of breathing can be heard clearly.

“Nothing!” Ning Meng pushed him away.

She stepped back abruptly, and opened her small mouth slightly, “I’m going back to school.”

Shi Qi stood up straight and said nothing.

His heart seemed to be entangled in black mist, the wisps gradually spreading out, completely without a gleam of light.

After a long time, he replied, “Okay.”

****

I really want to let her know.

To know that….

Somehow the: “Don’t run around carelessly” a few chapters ago and the “I didn’t give this (the phone) back to let you watch these kind of news” annoyed me so much I had to create an account to comment/rant about it!

First of all, mc was kidnapped, in the school, about to go back to dorm/class. Yet you are blaming her for “running around”?!?!? She was literally kidnapped!!!

And second of all, WHY WOULD YOU TAKE HER PHONE!
By this point it should have been at least a day since he took her phone, right? What if something happened again and she has no way of contacting anyone? Not to mention, IT’S HER PROPERTY! You are not her guardian responsible for her safety nor do you have any authority to take away HER phone. *Flips Table*

And yes, he could have someone/something watching or guarding her after that incident, but my point still stands. Mc is an adult, that’s her phone, her property. Ml should not be taking her things away and admonishing her like she is his child or something. Especially with these kinds of supernatural things that no-one can control or predict about.

Sorry for the rant. Thank you for all the chapters! ^^

That Gu Nianqian is really beyond help. She’s still so malicious even after that incident.
    Ungrateful friend she is…
What did Meng Ning do her wrong?!
Poor the original who was bullied to her death and no one had realised that.
