Dying In The Male Lead’s Arms Every Time I Transmigrate

Chapter 59.2 Shi Qi (2)

The two girls behind them couldn’t let this pass and promptly spoke up, “Gu Nanqian, what’s the use of being so kind to her? Just leave the cold and unscrupulous bitch alone.”

The girl beside her followed, “You already know her true face, how could you still approach her? Stop being so good-hearted, otherwise, Meng Ning will make things difficult for you.”

Meng Ning really wanted to curse then and there.

How was she going to make things difficult for Gu Nanqian? From start to end, it was her who had taken initiative, spewing out a pile of rubbish and wasting time.

They even called her ‘kind’, but it probably meant something else.

Gu Nanqian turned her head to them with a face of forbearance and sorrow, “Don’t say that. Meng Ning is only unable to accept the current situation. She’s a good lady.”

The two girls laughed out loud simultaneously.

Ning Meng, “….” Could she also do the same?

The figure of the person who came in was tall, his posture straight. He held a book in his hand and wore a white shirt, appearing clean and tidy without a hair out of place. His green eyes looked like they were made of glass, glistening brightly, however, an indiscernible mood was hidden within.

The incandescent lights were very bright, landing on his face. His originally exquisite appearance looked slightly dull due to the expressionless face, making his whole person seem upright and ascetic.

The original teacher was an old professor who was extremely strict.

Compared to the person who had just stepped in, there was a stark contrast as he was able to attract a hundred people’s gaze in the classroom to him.

The male students in the other departments numbered only a couple and they looked more or less alike. How could they pull on people’s heartstrings like this person did, his impression deeply embedded in their minds.

Mixed with a bit of an invasive feeling.

The girls who finally snapped out of their senses started to ask around about him and was curious as to why the person who came in was him. Could he be a new teacher?

Ning Meng held her face, lamenting, ‘Seventeen is still really good-looking.’

Back in senior high, he was comparatively very pretty and the more he grew, the more good-looking he became. However, in just 3 short years, he had spurted in height and his facial features became more exquisite, looking like a pretty fairy.

Even though it wasn’t right to use these words to describe him, it really suited him.

The girl behind her squealed, “This is our new teacher? Who is he?”

The person beside her mumbled to herself, “….Why do I feel like I’ve seen him before? He looks like the teacher’s…”

Teachers and students areas were separated and new students dislike going to the teacher’s side so there were usually very little interactions so she wasn’t clear about it.

Shi Qi was already standing on the podium and had settled his book down. He surveyed his surroundings before calmly retracting his gaze.

In the end, his gaze fixated in the front row.

After a long time, he finally shifted his gaze away, flipping his book open and formally saying, “Professor Wang has matters to attend to so I’ll be subbing for his class.”

Ning Meng blinked.

She never expected that there would be a day where she would be listening to her great grandson’s class, it was really….such a case where the teacher would probably have the students’ gaze glued on his face.

Just like the girls sitting behind her.

Ning Meng sat alone in the first row and the left and right seats were all completely vacant. She didn’t dare stare blankly and felt slightly embarrassed.

“Teacher, what’s your name?” A person suddenly spoke out from the back of the classroom, “Please introduce yourself.”

Ning Meng knew who this voice belonged to. It was Li Jiao who even pinched her own throat in an attempt to mask her identity.

Shi Qi didn’t even spare her a glance and merely said, “Page 39.”

Li Jiao stood in her place alone and was laughed at by the people in the surroundings. Her face turned flushed as she sat down abruptly, snorting coldly.

……

“I got it. It’s Shi Qi….Wow. This name sounds so good. He’s currently Professor Wang’s teaching assistant…21 years old and single!”

“Does he have wechat?”

“No. She said he has a strong sense of privacy. Senior sister was also his previous classmate but didn’t have his weChat, we probably won’t be able to get it as well.”

Single? Very good. Very good.

Ning Meng who was eavesdropping revealed a small mother-like smile.

Seeing him now, he certainly didn’t disappoint her earlier words of studying properly and improving everyday. It looked to have worked effectively.

Such privacy like weChat should be protected well.

This class was English Literature, which was basically a study of people and related works as well as some environment and background from the past, all spoken in English.

Shi Qi didn’t speak very quickly but to a group of new students, it was still a bit difficult to catch on. Even Ning Meng who listened for a long time, was only able to understand one or two sentences.

As for the students at the back, their hearts weren’t even in class.

Ning Meng stared at the podium. The hanged ghost had already run up to the podium, dragging its long tongue with a face of worship, writing at a tremendous speed.

Sitting in the very front row, she was able to see the dense characters written on his notebook.

Even though she couldn’t understand what he was writing about, it looked like that of an erudite’s. His long tongue even recited the words.

She then looked at Shi Qi again and coincidentally locked eyes with him.

Ning Meng nearly felt her heart drop down.

She quickly shifted her eyes away as her heart beat really quick. She felt as if she was being stared at but when she turned her head to look, Shi Qi wasn’t looking at her anymore.

Ning Meng: “….”

She must’ve been thinking too much.

She now had Meng Ning’s appearance which was an ordinary countenance at that so he definitely wouldn’t recognize her. He hadn’t recognized her before so the chances of him being able to do so now were much less.

At the thought of this, she summoned her focus and started listening attentively.

Shi Qi’s voice was pleasant to the ear. It sounded like mountain spring falling on an icy surface, clear and cold but also slightly rough and also had resonance as though water could seep out.

Ning Meng was excited listening to his voice, enjoying the whole class, even if he didn’t speak much during class, explaining only a couple of sentences.

She unwittingly fell into a daze.

Shi Qi flipped to the next page and subconsciously looked at the first row. Upon seeing a pair of blank eyes as he expected, his pupils darkened gradually.

He retracted his gaze and silently finished explaining a concept, saying, “Can one student answer my question?”

The people before him raised their hands promptly.

About 99 percent of the students in the whole classroom raised their hands, leaving only the boys who were in a bad mood.

As well as the dazed Ning Meng sitting in the front row.

Ning Meng saw the bookworm ghost raise his hand beside the podium and excitedly fling his long tongue back, quivering abruptly.

The scene looked quite freakish.

Shi Qi’s gaze paused on Ning Meng’s figure for a few seconds before he called out, “Meng Ning, come and answer this question.”

The instant his voice fell, the hanged ghost quickly flew to the first row tableside, glaring at her like a tiger watching his prey.

Ning Meng: “…” She was a bit frightened by that.

She subconsciously shifted further back to evade his look but she could also feel piercing stares from the back.

The girl sitting behind her spoke up bitterly, “Meng Ning, quickly get up and answer the question!”

She could be said to be very jealous of her right now.

Ning Meng recovered her senses and saw Shi Qi expressionlessly staring at her from the podium, making it clear that he was a bit angry.

She quickly stood up and asked in embarrassment, “What question?”

Shi Qi raised the corner of his mouth slightly, however, the arc was not apparent and he slowly pointed at the characters on the blackboard, “This.”

Ning Meng looked at it and honestly responded, “…I don’t know.”

She hasn’t been listening to class, how could she know the answer to this question…From now on, she wasn’t going to sit in the front row anymore. She was going to come a bit earlier and sit in the very last row. En. She decided.

Seeing her fair face turn flushed, looking lovely and pitiful, Shi Qi opened his mouth, his voice sounding particularly crisp, “Since that’s the case, then remain standing.”

Ning Meng: “….”

She was blind. She misjudged him. He was not the incomparably clever, cute and filial great grandson that she had raised.

Shi Qi’s eyes reflected fragments of light in green, like a newly sprouted bud in the forest, filled with life.

The corner of his lips turned down as he said, “before the next class, give me an answer.”

Ning Meng had yet to curse how her great grandson had grown up skewed when she heard these words and subconsciously replied, “I don’t know…”

The whole classroom was extremely quiet that even the sound of a needle dropping could be heard.

Several girls started to speak, “Teacher, I know the answer! I can send it to you, can you give me your number?”

“Yeah, she’s a bit stupid. Senior, I know the answer, give me your wechat and I’ll send it to you, I can send it to you right now!”

The whole classroom immediately became a complete mess.

The bell signalling the end of class coincidentally rang at this moment and the sounds of clamorous footsteps resounded outside.

Ning Meng had also reacted and thought that she couldn’t let these groups of little minxes get Shi Qi’s number and wechat in case one of their personalities was rotten.

She hurriedly spoke in a small voice, “How do I give you the answer? I don’t have your contact.”

Shi Qi seemed to be unaffected and closed his book.

He stared at Ning Meng and with a deep gaze and suddenly had another idea, changing his words, “You don’t have it?”

The people in the entire classroom became stunned.

Ning Meng: “….”

She did. She knew Shi Qi’s number and WeChat.

But, that was with Ning Ning’s identity.

Or did he mean that…Meng Ning privately had contact with Shi Qi? Why didn’t she see this part in her memories?

Ning Meng suddenly felt a bit flustered and secretly cast him a glance.

*****

Hmph.

The author has something to say:

Ning Meng: My child has grown skewed, feeling bitter

17 is now going to be teaching!

Even though he’s only subbing for someone for a few days, there won’t be much plot as this is the start of the arc_(:з」∠)_

Why isn’t there anything moving happening in the encounter between mother and daughter? Forget it, how was Ning Ning’s death explained so carelessly? It’s all so vague. I’m very uncomfortable with this. It’s hard for me to let it go. I thought it would be fine after reading a couple of chapters but it’s still bugging me how her death was so simply glossed over. 😓
