Dying In The Male Lead’s Arms Every Time I Transmigrate

Chapter 48.1 She’s really cute (1)

Seeing the village people hard at work not too far away, Liu Xuan heaved a breath of relief.

When she came here last month, she lived in the village for two days without any incidents, and the villagers also prepared a lot of food… though it was also because they had compensated them with money.

She turned her head and said, “Senior, this is the village, and the people here are quite nice.”

Shi Qi said, “Is that so?”

This sentence was very abrupt, rendering Liu Xuan stunned. And just as she was about to clarify her confusion, he had already turned to speak with the senior sister so she couldn’t even get a word in.

Only the three of them came, her deskmate did not come and neither did the men in black who followed the senior.

Liu Xuan couldn’t tell what she was feeling. Nobody was obliged to help her, to be able to come here was already decent enough help, she couldn’t ask for more.

The two people behind here were still whispering.

She climbed onto his back and patted him on the shoulder. The broad feeling truly made her realize that this wasn’t the same little 7 year old baby she knew before.

Knowing that her great grandson knew how to be considerate to people made her feel a sense of accomplishment. This was a result of her teaching. He was a complete contrast to the gloomy little child back in the novel.

Shi Qi did not speak, however, his expression turned soft.

Liu Xuan, who witnessed this whole process, bit her lip and did not speak. Forcing a smile, she said, “Senior, thank you for your help this time.”

Shi Qi merely lifted his chin and walked past her towards the village.

The more they approached, the livelier it became. Several children were playing in the mud on the side of the house, their faces covered with dried mud.

Liu Xuan ran over. She lived here for two days so everyone here was familiar to her. Seeing the uncle she used to live with, she hurried forward, “Uncle Li!”

The middle-aged man froze for a moment, putting down the hoe in his hand. He stared at her for a while, and then said, “It’s the little girl from last month, did you come to play again today?”

He fixed his gaze on the two tall and mighty men behind Shi Qi, a little hesitant, even though they were wearing ordinary clothes, he felt a sinister feeling.

And the doll who was carrying a little girl, didn’t make him feel anything good.

Liu Xuan could only nod her head: “Yes, I brought some new friends who’re here to help me with something. Thank you Uncle Li for last time, this time I may leave tomorrow.”

Uncle Li’s expression froze for a moment before soon putting on a smile again.

He grinned and said, “Tomorrow…tomorrow’s fine, I will find a room for you, last time you lived in my house, this time…”

Uncle Li babbled and left first, and Liu Xuan followed.

Ning Meng got off Shi Qi’s back and put on her shoes.

She felt something odd. When Liu Xuan mentioned the word tomorrow, this Uncle Li’s expression changed distinctively, which was definitely not normal.

If something were to happen tomorrow, she guessed tomorrow might be a special time, perhaps the village needed to do something, or this Uncle Li needed to do something.

Eventually he stopped in front of the only concrete house in the village.

Uncle Li turned his head and said, “This is a newly built house. It was originally my son’s wedding room. Last time when you came, it still wasn’t finished. Now, it’s done. You guys must be used to living in the city so a cement house should be appropriate.”

Ning Meng approached Shi Qi and asked secretly, “Are we going to stay here at night?”

Shi Qi moved, and replied in a low voice: “No.”

Ning Meng thought for a while. The car they drove over seemed to be quite big. They should be able to live in it and it would be much better than living in an unfamiliar village.

After journeying back and forth, Liu Xuan had already sent away Uncle Li.

She pointed to the road ahead and said: “The river…you’ll be able to see it not too far from walking ahead here, it will take about a few minutes and then once you follow along the river, you’ll be able to see a bridge.”

Having arrived at the destination, she already felt impatient.

For the past month, she had to look at her mask every day. The fear in her heart wasn’t but just a drop of trepidation. No one understood her pain at all.

She had just picked up a mask for fun, how could she stumble into such a terrifying ordeal… Fortunately, there was someone who could save her.

Liu Xuan silently looked at Shi Qi in front of him, and the joy in her heart was like weeds on the wasteland, rising from the ground, and instantly covering the entire land.

Then she saw the delicate and tender senior sister next to him, and couldn’t help but think, why did senior pamper this senior sister, she wasn’t even that pretty.

Ning Meng noticed her gaze and gave her a small smile.

Shi Qi pushed her head back, “Don’t look around.”

Ning Meng poked him, she had merely cast a glance at the school girl, how was she looking around.

Liu Xuan controlled her emotions. The most urgent thing was to find the weird mask. She said, “Senior, shall we go to the river now?”

Shi Qi responded, “Yeah.”

Liu Xuan led the way, and the two followed behind.

Ning Meng looked around and asked in a low voice, “You didn’t really have anything to do with the phone?”

The person next to her denied it again.

She hummed for a while, took out her mobile phone, and found that there was no signal here, “I knew this was definitely your doing. My mother’s luck is really bad.”

Her luck was also quite bad.

Shi Qi turned his head to look at her, and did not speak, but the corners of his lips were raised slightly.

The two men in black wore regular clothes. They walked very lightly, not making the slightest sound and they didn’t speak a word from beginning to end. If it wasn’t for the fact they were not invisible, they would’ve been easily gone unnoticed.

With the passage of time, they had walked a great deal of distance.

The village was already left far behind and the place they were now was a very dense forest. Though it was already November, there were still a lot of leaves falling from the trees.

It can be said that the gap between the entrance of the village and the end of the village was very large.

Liu Xuan looked at it for a while and said, “The last time we were camping in the clearing behind the woods, it was hot and the woods were still green.”

The trees at the entrance of the village were planted with evergreen trees, so they looked lush and verdant, but the fields were a mixture of gold and green, signalling that the time of ripening was approaching.

Soon, the woods came to an end.

A wide river came into view. The river measured about ten meters wide. The water quality was normal and the water surface was calm. Downstream, one couldn’t see the end. Upstream, one could faintly see a stone bridge.

Liu Xuan looked upstream with pleasant surprise: “It’s the bridge! It’s the bridge where I found the mask on!”

She couldn’t wait to walk ahead, speeding up a lot.

Ning Meng felt her heart quiver. Swallowing her saliva, she grabbed Shi Qi’s cuff, “Great… Shi Qi, let’s go.”

Shi Qi hooked his lips into a small smile and responded, “Okay, let’s go.”

How could Ning Meng have the heart to detect the peculiarities of his attitude. She walked forward together with him, thinking of what she was about to encounter.

I adore how completely she adopts each life so far. She genuinely wants to treat her families well. She could just goof off and not study since she knows she’ll die, but that would make NN’s mom unhappy. Her grandmotherly feelings for SQ continue to be hilarious. I love that there’s nothing romantic on her part towards him right now.

Me too, because that would make her sounds like a pervert although she actually knew him as a character in the book as adult. However when she knew him personally, it’s him as a child..and she raised him…even of only for few months…so one can’t call it incest. But it would simply feel too weird if she changed her feeling and attitude towards him too fast.
Shi Qi on the other hand had noticed her true color rather early..so he knew that she’s not his grandma very early on, and he knew that she’s a young girl. So it’s more acceptable and even normal for him to develop romantic feeling towards her as soon as he found out that she’s not an evil spirit.
Afterall…in his eyes, she’s the only and the first one genuinely cared about him. He knew that his good life was only because of her kindness but then he lost her just like that.
She’s the closest to him since the beginning, she’s sincere…not only because he’s talented.
      That’s his impression.
