After Rebirth, I was Entangled by a Second Generation Rich Guy Again

Chapter 7

KFC is just across the road from the school gate. After passing by KFC, there is the large residential area for faculty members of Huada University where Ji Anning currently lives.

It can be said that Ji Anning passes by there every day.

Fast food chains such as KFC and McDonald’s are high-calorie fried junk food that some families forbid their children to eat or limit their consumption.

But for other families, it is a “luxury” place that they have to touch their wallets and resist the temptation to walk past without looking at it every time they pass by.

Wen Yu is certainly the former.

In Ji Anning’s memory, she used to be in the former category too. After her father’s business failed, he cheated her grandmother into selling the house and took away all the family’s savings, she became one of the latter.

Wen Yu was a bit confused.

The pretty girls he had met usually said in a coquettish voice, “Let’s go eat sushi,” or commanded him to “eat steak.”

She was familiar with this look from him, like there was molten lava flowing in the depths of his gaze, with a scorching heat rushing towards her in the darkness.

In the past, he had always looked at her this way. It often made her feel flustered, scared, and wanting to escape.

Back then, when he looked at her like this, she would run away. But now…

“What are you looking at?” Ji Anning asked.

Wen Yu didn’t look like he was caught doing anything wrong, his gaze flickering as he smiled and said, “I’m looking at you.”

Ji Anning actually knew that he must be thinking of some perverted thoughts in his head. Later, he had relentlessly pursued her, and he never hid his thoughts and desires for her.

Ji Anning didn’t know how to respond, so she just remained expressionless.

Wen Yu had a strange feeling that Ji Anning seemed to know what he had been thinking just now. How could that be possible? He laughed at himself.

He looked at her two hands still supporting the chicken and took one of them. He picked up a tissue and wiped the oil off her fingertips, saying, “Don’t lick your fingers in front of others in the future. It’s not pretty. ” It’s too seductive,
Wen Yu thought. Damn it! He couldn’t let others see this.

Ji Anning was stunned for a moment. Was he criticizing her for licking her fingers just now? So she had misunderstood him?

She had licked her fingers unconsciously just now, but she realized that it was not a graceful behavior. She felt a little embarrassed.

Then she realized that Wen Yu was holding her hand.

According to the time, they had just met. This guy had no shame!

Ji Anning quickly withdrew her hand, saying uneasily, “I can do it myself.” She picked up a tissue and lowered her head to wipe her fingers.

Her reflexes were quite long.

Wen Yu smiled and did not force her.

Compared with his later domineering and unreasonable behavior, at this moment when he had just met Ji Anning, he was indeed polite, even gentle.

But Ji Anning knew his true face.

“I won’t hit you, but I’m warning you, Ji Anning,” he cornered her in an empty corner of the school, gritting his teeth. “As long as I’m around, don’t even think about being with anyone else.”

He was from another school, a frequent customer at Shu Chen’s shop who pursued her until he followed her to school. When he caught sight of them, he started a physical altercation.

Although the guy appeared to be strong, no one expected that he couldn’t withstand Wen Yu’s punch.

Ji Anning was really scared of him. She ran away whenever she saw him from afar after he cornered her a few times. He asked why she was running away, and only then did he realize that she was afraid of him hitting her.

He said he would never hit a woman and asked her to be his girlfriend again.

Although Ji Anning was afraid of him and though he swore he wouldn’t hit a woman, she still refused him.

Wen Yu nearly lost control and cornered her against the wall, saying the words above.

Afterwards, no guy in school dared to pursue her again.

That’s how scary he was.

But…

Ji Anning looked up. Wen Yu was smiling at her.

Between his eyebrows and the corners of his mouth was the self-confidence she was familiar with. His domineering, paranoid, and ruthless traits had not yet been revealed at this moment.

Ji Anning knew his true face and knew he was someone she was very scared of.

But only someone as violent as him would avenge her after her death, only someone as paranoid as him would destroy his life for her!

Isn’t that right?

“Are you from Yushi?” Wen Yu smiled and started a conversation. “I’m also from there. My hometown was there until my grandfather’s time, and then we moved to the provincial capital…”

“I also have class on the 3rd floor of Building 3 on Tuesday.”

“The Mr. Liu who taught you market theory also taught us. He has a really big head, so we all call him Big Head Liu.”

Ji Anning’s responses were all very short.

“Yes.”

“Oh.”

“Mm.”

Her attitude towards him was much colder than in the previous life. The first time they ate together in the previous life was in the cafeteria, where the free porridge was contaminated. He asked someone to make him a new bowl of rice and then struck up a conversation with her.

She was a freshman, and he was a senior. She was polite, courteous, and even a little respectful towards him.

It was not like now, with her eyelashes lowered and her gaze fixed on the tabletop, not making eye contact with him.

She actually didn’t pay attention to what he was saying at all. He was just trying to find topics to chat with girls.

Her mind was full of thoughts about how to change her and his life.

It was useless to simply reject him. In the previous life, she had been refusing him all along, but it only led to his relentless pestering. Later, he disappeared from school, and she was finally relieved.

A few months later, she fell off a building.

Ji Anning didn’t actually know when Wen Yu avenged her after she died. Her soul was wandering, her consciousness unclear, and many times the scenes she saw were like dreams, disjointed in time.

Anyway, he left school, she died, he came back, and avenged her.

His life was ruined as a result. In an unknown situation, he was caught by someone who seemed to be his opponent and was sent to prison.

A bullet ended his young life.

Ji Anning is now reborn. She won’t fall into that person’s trap again, and she can ensure that she won’t die. In that case, Wen Yu doesn’t have to be sentenced to death for avenging her.

But what about after that?

She goes to school safely, and he disappears and comes back later? Do they have to continue the pattern of one side entangling and the other side avoiding like before?

Ji Anning couldn’t help but sigh.

Suddenly realizing that the atmosphere was not right, she looked up.

Wen Yu leaned his elbow on the table, holding his chin with one hand, and looking at her playfully.

Seeing that she finally looked up, he looked at his watch and said, “Two minutes.”

Ji Anning was confused.

“I haven’t said anything for two minutes. And you…” Wen Yu crossed his arms and raised his eyebrows. “In two minutes, you said ‘um’ twice, ‘oh’ once, and finally sighed?”

Meeting a girl who was distracted to this extent when facing him for the first time, Wen Yu was also amazed.

Ji Anning was speechless, slightly lowering her head and apologizing, “I’m sorry…”

“What are you thinking?” Wen Yu generously ignored her rudeness. “Why are you sighing?”

Ji Anning certainly wouldn’t tell him that she was worrying about their future. She gave him a stupid excuse, “No, I ate too much and feel a little sleepy.”

So did you yawn?

Wen Yu didn’t know why Ji Anning thought he was easy to fool. Her attempt to evade the question was too obvious.

“I’m full,” Ji Anning looked at the time and said, “Otherwise…”

She seemed to want to get up.

Her slender fingers played with her thin phone like playing poker cards. Wen Yu interrupted her and asked, “I saw you after school yesterday. Where did you go when you didn’t go home?”

For someone who just met, this question was already a bit impolite.

But Wen Yu tried to approach the topic gradually earlier, while Ji Anning simply gave him a grandiose speech. So he skipped those pointless chatters and went straight to the point.

Ji Anning was used to his overbearing attitude from their previous life, so she didn’t feel surprised and casually replied, “I went to work. It’s getting late. Let’s go back to school.”

Wen Yu didn’t move and asked, “Where do you work?”

Ji Anning knew that even if she didn’t say it, he would soon find out. Then, he would frequently visit Shu Chen’s shop, intimidating him from time to time, making him scared.

“Guangming Road,” she said, “There’s a theme cafe about anime.”

She answered quickly, and Wen Yu finally felt better. This schoolmate ignored him too much, as if he was less attractive than greasy fried chicken wings to her.

“Oh, I’ll go check it out later,” Wen Yu flipped his phone over and showed the screen to Ji Anning, “Do you know this person?”

Ji Anning stared intently.

On the screen of her phone was a photo of a man with a swollen cheek, blood dripping from his nose and mouth, and a missing tooth. The man had tears and snot running down his nose, and his expression conveyed both pain and fear.

Ji Anning immediately recognized him as the perverted man who had groped her on the bus yesterday.

When Wen Yu saw the change in Ji Anning’s expression, from dismissive to…serious?…he found it interesting.

“I saw you chasing him off the bus yesterday,” he said. “I happened to be right behind you, so I got off and asked what happened. I caught up with him and gave him a lesson. I warned him not to see him again. If he bothers you, just give me a call.”

It was only after he finished speaking that he remembered that Ji Anning wasn’t afraid to begin with. She had even stabbed the perverted man’s hand with a pen, leaving a deep wound. She had been quite ruthless.

Wen Yu couldn’t help but look at Ji Anning.

She was as thin as a reed, but had a fiery personality.

Ji Anning’s face turned pale. What kind of person was Wen Yu?

She remembered how cold and merciless he had been when he threw his enemy off the roof.

He had destroyed his own life.

When the bullet pierced through her empty body, she had felt fear and pain as well.

A surge of anger rose within Ji Anning.

“Why did you hit him?” she gritted her teeth.

Wen Yu raised an eyebrow.

“Why couldn’t you just call the police? Why resort to violence to solve the problem?” Ji Anning couldn’t control her anger, and her pitch-black eyes seemed to be burning with flames.

Her delicate and slender body seemed to possess great strength, as if it could erupt at any moment.

Girl! Boys and girls mentality regarding solving problems are different. Why everywhere I go, I always here this, DON’T FIGHT, NEVER USE VIOLENCE.

Girls’ don’t usually fight, thus they use vicious methods, for example dirty rumors, bad topics etc. Boys usually solve it within an hour max through fighting and it’s not like there are MMA fighters. Even if they fight, mostly they’ll get a broken nose, otherwise they’ll avoid fight if win is not guaranteed from the start. Not saying that Fighting is good, but we’re talking about people who are in there early 20s. It’s normal for everyone, except for nerds. Heh, nerds use exam result points to solve problems. 👍
